Pakistan will be most impacted by US, NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan: Senior US military commander

.
and then to mitigate this (the way it was done by US earlier), Pakistan is trying to help buildup afghan system to include every one including Taliban in mainstream so that it doesn't effect Pakistan.

.
You'll notice Iran has been very quiet about this news. Their could be a few important reasons as to why.

1) Withdrawl of US troops from Afghanistan means reduced deterence

Withdrawl of US troops from their bases creates a reduction of potential targets in case of direct bombing of Iran by the US airforce. If hypothetically, their are no US bases in the region, Iran virtually has no deterrence to prevent a B-52 squadron of launching a flurry of cruise missiles at Iran.

2) Possibility of Taliban controlled Kabul.

While not nessisraily the worst thing for Iran, the prospect of a Taliban controlled Kabul would cause a large refugee crisis to the tune of a million on Irans eastern border, particularly in Herat province. Last thing Iran can afford is a refugee crisis.

3) Greater security dilemma

Without any prior negotiation or agreement with the Taliban, either Iran must be willing accept a flow of refugees or may have to intervene to create a enclave in Herat similar to Turkey and Idlib where citizens are relatively safe from trouble and provide little reason to seek refugee status. This is the worst and least likely scenario but the fact of the matter is, Iran actually relies heavily on the US to keep Afghanistan from imploding onto it's borders even though it is alleged they've been supporting the Taliban to harrass US troops.

Biggest Loser: India
Possibly joining India as biggest loser would be Iran.

I'd like to know what my Pak friends think of this.
USA will still have a say in Kabul for some time. But you are correct, this time around Pakistan, Iran and Russia will have more reasons to cooperate then in the 90's.

.
We need them choppers and MRAP to deal with what's coming.

.
great, so things were not then as I mentioned and you partially agree with me or fully agree with me that's fine. BUT the situation post 9/11 when compared to the situation in the 80's! there is no comparison. as for the party situation. I know that you have your own views that are from the american lense. do you think the americans have actually won afghanistan?

What the Americans have achieved in Afghanistan, or not, is not the topic of this thread. The impact of US withdrawal on Pakistan is. Do you think it will be good or great for Pakistan? After all, the congratulatory backslapping has already begun, has it not?
Pakistan may not have a choice. We did it the 90's on the cheap by giving the Taliban some pickups. This time we may need help them with some drone strikes...especially against terror sanctuaries.

Would that be bad necessarily? Pakistan can revisit its strategic depth once again, if nothing else. Most likely, having a moldable "friendly" nation on its West would be a huge boon, and not just for the traditional tariff free trade.

I don't have a crystal ball that shows me the future so that is something I cannot say, because I cannot predict the future.

I can hypothesis however that Pakistan will reach peace once nato is gone completely. as I mentioned earlier the destruction that we faced came as as a result of Nato and its allies using afghanistan as a platform against Pakistan. TTP and other religious or marxist terrorist have a home in afghanistan. one the quarterbacks go home they will vanish too.

May be what you say will happen, but may be peace will be more elusive. It may take a while before things finally settle down.

Ghass kayenge ye, par kashmir leke rahenge.

Ab Muh me ghass hai , but kashmir abhi bhi India ke pas hai.

Now Delegate it to the Talbian , like they are your paltu dogs .

What i think will happen is , that instead of India they might start going after the kufur and munafiq nexus
aka Iron brotherhood.

You are the ones reaching out to Taliban not to allow proxies against your land. We aren't asking anyone to do anything. You are free to send your soldiers in Afghanistan we will not object to it

If you feel so much worry about the taliban

feel free to send an IA corps or 2 to Afghanistan to back the govt in Kabul

We don't care. We will simply mine the afghan border and shut it down.

- We saw worst cross border attacks from Afghanistan when Americans were sitting inside Afghanistan.
- Indians used Afghan soil against Pakistan TTP & BRAS
- Pakistan has to chose one side from the two options and it is choosing the side which it thinks is lesser of both evils

Pakistan knows that Taliban in power will not safe Pakistan mostly due to their incapacity to control all of Afghanistan but this is what we get here in this region.

I am sure Pakistan will choose wisely to best serve its national interests, whatever it decides.

If India wants the installed Ghani regime intact for the following years post the US withdrawal, it needs to have its own boots on the ground. Who will trust the ANA, whose soldiers defect in the dozens daily to the IEA?

I pray India send soldiers...it will be open hunting season. I will start a hunting touring company. Targets and points based on Indians killed by rank
