ISLAMABAD: Pakistan welcomed the understanding reached between Iran and P5 +1 in Geneva on the Iran nuclear issue, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Sunday.
Stating that Pakistan considers Iran to be a brotherly neighbouring country, the statement added that a peaceful solution to the issue had always been desired.

The statement from the ministry said that it was being stressed that a confrontation be avoided on the Iran’s nuclear program by Pakistan as it could have destabilised the region.

The understanding between Iran and P5+1 in Geneva is important as it bodes well for the peace and security situation in the region and the world.

P5+1 group which comprises of the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany met in Geneva on Saturday and reached an understanding in a bid to reach an interim accord with Iran on its nuclear programme after a decade of failed efforts.

What other excuse can Nawaz come up with now for not building IP Pipeline?

International banks and domestic banks can easily give loans to govt for building IP pipeline since there are no sanctions on Iran nor any concerns of US.

Or will Nawaz be man enough to tell Pakistani people the real reason Saudi Pressure and He being their slave can't disobey them.

How will Sunni extremists respond ?

Not sunni extremists, call them Saudi funded and indoctrinated idiots.

This anti-shia campaign is mainly funded from Saudi Arabia. My issue is why we play in their hands!

Pakistan must have good relations with Iran. Relations must not be hostage to Saudi nod, as it looks like the case with this govt.

i feel Pakistan fails in diplomacy even if its intentions are good as it views everything from a prism in this case for saudi arabia

Pakistan should honestly stay away from this long started battle of supremacy between Iran and Saudi Arabia it in no way serves our purpose. If Pak Iran gas pipeline serves our purpose, which it does obviously, then we should pursue it to safeguard our interests.

What the f*ck were/are our gov.t officials smoking!?!?!?!?

"Pakistan Welcomes resolution of Iran Nuclear Issue"??? Heck, its not like Pakistan would've done jack sh!t if there was no resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue. We only welcomed it because our masters in Washington welcomed it.

They really need to hop off Saudi and Western laps and start making independent policies that are in the National interests of Pakistan.

Good development from Pakistan's perspective as we are interested in trading with Iran. We could use help in the Energy Sector with Iranian Gas Pipeline and we should help Iran with our Agricultural products. But we should not be overly dependent on Iranian Gas and should encourage competition with the TAPI project as well. Competition is a healthy thing and keeps prices in line. We should not give Iran a monopoly in terms of Gas Pipeline as that would be detrimental for Pakistani interests and our Economy.

Pakistan should have cordial and friendly relations with Iran because we are neighbours with Iran. However, our Relations with KSA and Turkey should be closer and we should have defence pacts with Gulf Nations and provide them with a Nuclear Umbrella, just in case Iran develops Nuclear Bomb and threatens or Blackmails our Gulf Friends including KSA.
