There was no legal basis for canceling the Reko Diq contract only emotional basis - Iftikhar Ch wanted the consortium to appoint his son as its head in Quetta they refused and he issued suo moto.
Pakistan will delay the payment by 2-3 years by challenging the verdict and it will eventually cost more than $6 billion.
We must make a decision after taking detail aspects of International law.
At $41M per ton of gold and $6000 per ton of copper, the total worth is close to 87 billion dollars which Pakistan govt can get at the current rate by mining it. Get China to involve in to provide mining equipment and knowledge skillset and start to do it yourself initiative

We shouldn't make mistake of using Chinese equipment for a project worth $ billions.
If it was upto me, i would keep Chinese away!
It's anyway a shame full practice to hand over projects to foreign companies!
Only third rated African countries would do such a thing.

Just don't pay. Offer them an out of court settlement or nothing at all.

We should also make some case that they paid Zardari back handers to win the deal. Use it as a reason not to pay the court mandated amount. Never finish the case against Zardari, never have to share evidence, drag out settlement payment, tell the company out of court settlement or nothing.
