Pakistan to receive C-130 avionics kits from US

WASHINGTON (May 09 2007): Rockwell Collins Inc is assigned to deliver Pakistan with five C-130 avionics (Group B) kits, which will be used to upgrade transport aircrafts and enhance aircraft operational capabilities. The award was given to Rockwell Collins Inc by United States Air Force for about $6.5 million.

Solicitations for this deal began in February 2007 and negotiations were completed by April 2007. Avionics kits should be delivered to Pakistan Air Force by August 2008.

It is unclear what may be provided with upgrade kits, but it is likely Rockwell Collins Inc may provide Flight 26 X 8-inch Multi-Function Displays, AN/ARC-210 radios, SAT-2000, multimode receivers, automatic direction finder and high frequency data link upgrades for C-130 aircraft which will result in integration of flight operations with navigation, guidance functions, better situational awareness, support future growth requirements, and weather radar upgrade.
