For them the same problem exists, i.e. Where's the money, honey?Let the J-10 and Su-35 JH-7 Talks begin Like always
Well we have all options such as Typhoons, Eurofighters, Honrnets, Gripens, or even raptors or F-35....but problem is keh hamari Pasli kitni hay. ??? I don't know why we opted again for F-16s when even our home made Thunders were named Jf -17 in a reactionary mode to reflect that its one step ahead of F-16s....idea of these vipers as main pillar to our air defence should have been dropped right away the moment Uncle Sam refused to provide these despite the advance payment of money in the 90s....this love affair must be ended right away...bring another platform no matter how much it will cost us...no matter if it doesn't bring anything significant to PAF's capabilities...no matter how much it will cost us to develop additional infrastructure...at least we shall get rid of that sick mourning season which starts right from the evaporation of Uncle Sam's interests in the region after every 10 years of so....time to swallow the bitter pills....just bring a dam new platform and that would be the best thing ever happened in my life time...Ehsaan ho ga Qoum kay logon per...!!!

EF and Gripen require US approval for export unlike the Rafale which is exempt.

I was actually mocking around about all the aircrafts mentioned above...you missed the point that " hamari pasli kitni hay" which means how much we can afford to buy those...?? NONE...the only realistic chance we have to buy J-10s...it's a embargo free, can be upgraded with the passage of time, heavy weight, with heavy payload with lots of flght stamina, PAF should now seriously consider to induct that aircraft...otherwise they will remain indulged in playing cat and mouse with Washington and fanboys like many here will remain mourning for the next 2 decades or so...!!
I don't think PAF are keen on the J-10 as you will require a whole new infrastructure for it plus training the pilots, weapons etc.
F16 is a safe bet because you guys used to this bird and already honed years of pilot skills/doctrine around it.
So you see the difficulty PAF is facing. It can keep trying to acquire F-16s, but this will mean Pakistan being dependent on US to keep them flying, meaning they will have leverage over you. On the other hand, to remove this leverage you need to acquire another platform, but this comes with an additional cost of introducing a new weapons system.
So what to do?
It certainly is a dilemma, the issue is people think of the short term. Now if Pakistan invest in developing it's service industry like mobile apps, gaming, IT as it certainly has the calibre of professionals than you would see a higher FDI rate from international investors. There needs more technology parks where the govt offers tax breaks to those start up industries and wait 5 years to see a change in world opinion. Alas people just keep going on about CPEC like it's the only thing but people should think outside the box.
Look at India in 1992 and compare now we had a smallish defence budget of just $12-14 billion and today it is over $40bn and world bank saying we might grow to 8% next year.
Make peace with India let's do business we can change Asia together if we joined forces.
Think why no CEO of apple or google comes to Pakistan? Why no large investment like foxconn going? You have the man power
,In the 1960s Pakistan was way ahead of most countries people like Clinton, Beatles used to come on the hippie trial and PIA was the finest of airlines but now look?
Poland is unlikely, they operate fairly new Block-52. Unless they're planning to store some planes, those F-16s won't be coming to Pakistan for a long time, at best. Our best source for used F-16C/D will be the U.S.
PAF and F sola Better Love story then Twilight
