i think we should really have to aware general public that how buying imported things really damage us..
I'm not saying that we should completely halt the buying imported things as that would also effect the daily routine, but we have to decrease their usage to save falling reserves...

imported products like Tea and cooking Oil are not only bad for health but for also the economy..

mate we need some serious reforms in our fuel and beverages/tobacoo sectors as these two sectors made whopping 28% of our all imports.
we need a new car policy which forces our local manufacturers to build quality and fuel efficient cars by giving tax reliefs to the manufacturer of hybrid cars with high safety rating.we can save a lot by these reforms as these cars will cut our fuel cost and car imports by huge margin.
second thing we need to do is heavily tax the tobacco related product because 40% of our male population is smoker this will help us reduce our healthcare cost and save foreign reserves while increasing our tax revenue further.

Well, first get the local producers off taxes...reduce import duties on machinery and raw material..when local factories are producing junk..everyone will go for imports....look at the junkware produced in Pakistan..from automobile to home appliances..nothing is exportable..
