I never understand the reason behind holding fisherman ... This type of issue should be sorted out in 2-3 week time.

It's a more political issue now, than it is a military issue. Both nations are too prideful to admit when they screwed up, and even when they do, they use the excuse of sovereignty violations to hold the civilians for a longer term.

It's unfortunate, but it is a reality that Indian and Pakistani fishermen have to live with.

I hope India releases their fishermen too. Actually there should be an agreement to not arrest these people at all. Just send them back after some little fine or one-two weeks in prison max.

There should be no jailing at all, just a little fine or 50% of catch if the same crew repeated the act.
