MULTAN-Nuclear scientist and Chairman of Tehrik Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan said on Wednesday that he secured Pakistans geographical boundaries by making nukes and now he was striving to save ideological frontiers of the country by introducing the TTP, adding that ideological foundation of the country is in jeopardy.
Addressing the members of High Court Bar Multan, he added that the situation was highly volatile in the country. I categorically declare that the ideological foundation of the country is in jeopardy, he said. He accused the opposition of supporting corruption with the help of rulers. He said, We would have to change the system.
He said that it was heartening to see the country disintegrating. Thats why I have come out myself to save this country. I dont want coming generations to say that Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan was alive and he did nothing to save the country, he added. He said, Today we will have to think like a Pakistani instead of thinking as a Jiyala or Matwala.
He declared that the members of TTP would introduce the system of check and balance in parliament after getting elected. He said that both opposition and government were busy looting national wealth and the public representatives publicly. He said that no one could ask them any question as they were elected by the people.
When they say so, they forget that the people did not elect them to loot national exchequer. It is my appeal to the masses to reject such candidates in elections, he appealed. He said that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto invited him to Pakistan on his letter and launched nuclear programme while Gen Ziaul Haq and Ghulam Ishaq Khan also supported the programme. He said that Pakistans nuclear programme was purely indigenous and all the items including nukes and missiles were made locally.
Nobody brought any stolen nuclear parts or gadgets to Pakistan. We made it locally, he said. He refuted allegations leveled against him, saying he did not steal or sold any nuclear materials. He said that he visited Multan in 1992 first and he could not forget the warm welcome accorded to him by the loving and sweet Multanites. High Court Bar President Mahmood Ashraf Khan and general secretary Jaffar Tayyar Bokhari also spoke on this occasion.
