Well said batmannow.......I agreed that we have rights to do any thing at our own....................but before that we have to prove that by standing as really a sovreign nation by realizing our identity thru improving our capabilities & economic structure which may not possible in the presence of the availbale politicia ..............in this regard we have to do as you suggested in last highligted above....as now ultimately we have to decied either to keep fat cat politician parasite to suck Pakistan or we really need sovreign Pakistan......other wise we will never be able to be independent in our policies.............and will remain crying for economical crunches one and then another...........like we are facing the same since long in our history.

INR is appreciating because RBI is forcing money out of the country. U will note that estate prices have also risen with the rise in currency value. If FDI leaves the country, the rupee value rises. RBI is purposely doing it to weaken the rupee. RBI is doing it to increase the profitabilities of R&D enterprises in the country. Many R&D companies are setting up shop because of this. Plus, more money in the export business.

I think we should look for alternative energy sources. The current devaluation of the currency is due to our less export. We are importing necessities hence we should look forward to improve the political situation and improve our production in parallel.

Shifting to alternate sources is not possible considering Pak has no money right now. U need to have surplus money to actually consider opening new plants.
the Indian nuclear industry is sitting on a cash surplus of $20-30Billion. Why else do u think the indo-US deal was struck? They had Rs. 50000Crores surplus reserves 2 years ago.
Without money the transition is impossible.

One cannot blame this on high fuel prices since India is a bigger fuel importer than Pakistan (Pakistan is already using alternatives).

U cant compare. India has a stable economy and is investor friendly. So, obviously people in the west are transferring funds into china and india even now. Investors find that their money is safe in india and china rather than in Europe and the US.
It actually took off ever since the Lehman Brothers went bankrupt.

One more thing. Pak forex reserves have started gowing down ever since the Marriot hotel incdent. U have not been attracting investments since the incident. So, obviously Pak has not been able to recuperate the losses.

Your present govt is not to blame for this. It is just bad time for pak. Actually the zardari govt are trying their best to save Pak from bankruptcy.

4.Russia will not befriend Pakistan for fear of losing India to the west, which would mean death to their defense Industry.

5.Cutting off supplies to NATO troops in Afghanistan will make life difficult for them for a few months, after that pakistan is going to be in a whole lot of trouble. No more money, no equipment, and a war with pakistan would become more feasible now that they don't need you for supplies.

6.Those UN missions are actually quite beneficial for training purposes, not to mention the money which you don't have right now.

You dont need god's help in this. This will blow over in 6 months time. 2 indian companies, infosys and TCS, have announced mass recruitments after 6 months time (almost 55000 recrutiments in 2 months) . They are confident the economic conditions will stabilize in the coming months.

Right utilization of foreign aid(which pak will get) will ensure Pak doesnot default.

Although, after the situation blows over, the govt needs to figure out a way to open up the economy to foreign investments completely.

In truth, had pak concentrated on their economy rather than kashmir, then pak would have been richer than india. Smaller countries grow faster in shorter amounts of time. Meaning, if a country like malayasia grows at the same pace as india. Then 10 years of growth in malayasia will be like 30 years in india.

i have a bad news for you , just now i have seen a news slide on dawn news, which is telling me that, china is about to invest 5 BILLION usd$$ in PAKISTAN + a billion to support crunt situation.

Chinese company to generate low cost hydel electricity in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A prominent Chinese power generating entrepreneur has said that it will make investment to the tune of $ 1.7 billion for generating low cost hydel electricity in Pakistan.

The assurance for investment was given to President Asif Ali Zardari when a delegation of China International Water and Electricity Corporation (CWE) held a detailed meeting with him here on Friday.

“We just met with President Asif Ali Zardari and the talk focused on Bhasha and Kohala Dams”, said Deputy General Manager of CWE Jin Zheping, said talking to media after meeting the President at State Guest House in Beijing.

Jin said for Bhasha Dam CWE was developing concept with Chinese Hydel power generating groups and also with WAPDA as it is a gigantic project.

He said the MoU in this regard has already been signed. Jin pointed out that President has shown high vision on cooperative relations in economic sector between the two countries.

The CWE Deputy General Manager said the President has assured that he will particularly welcome Chinese entrepreneurs for investment in Pakistan.
President Zardari specially mentioned that he will steer China-Pakistan trade economic cooperation to encourage Chinese companies to invest and come to Pakistan for setting up of various projects.

CWE has been working on water resources and hydropower engineering for over 50 years. Over the years, the Company has been active in international contracting, foreign economic aid, international trading and manpower export sectors. CWE is recognized one of the major state-owned enterprises in China.

By the end of September 2007, the company has completed over 600 international contracts in more than 60 countries and regions.
