Pakistan rubbishes India’s fudged numbers on ‘shrinking minorities’

During the parliamentary debate on the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led party repeatedly claimed that population of religious minorities in Pakistan had declined from 23 per cent in 1947 to 3.7 per cent in 2011.

The claim is contrary to historical facts and census results. He said the number of non-Muslim population drastically dropped due to creation of Bangladesh. “Therefore, blaming Pakistan for persecution against the non-Muslim population is unfounded and a lie,”

During the debate on the controversial bill in the Indian parliament, Home Minister Amit Shah alleged that Pakistan’s non-Muslim population had shrunk from 23% in 1947 to 3.7% due to persecution. However, Shah, in his animosity against Pakistan, quoted the combined data for both East and West Pakistan (now Bangladesh).

FACTS:

There is no official data available for the country’s population based on people’s religious beliefs at the time of partition in 1947. However according to 1951 census, the country’s non-Muslim population was 14.20 per cent (both for East and West Pakistan).

It may be noted that Pakistan’s non-Muslim population was not evenly distributed according to 1951’s census. In West Pakistan, the non-Muslim population was just 3.44 per cent, while in East Pakistan (today’s Bangladesh) it was 23.20 per cent of the total population.

The data on religious background for the recently-held census in 2017 is yet to be released by the government. However, according to the previous census carried out in 1998, Pakistan’s non-Muslim population stood at 3.7 per cent of the total population, signaling that the share of non-Muslims has remained at or around 3.5 per cent from the time of first census in 1951.

For all the Indian members who know nothing about Pakistan, should see the facts before open their dirty mouths. Minorities in Pakistan are much happier than India. This false illusion created by BJP that hindus or Sikhs want to leave Pakistan is misleading.

Facts, Figures and honesty are things which are alien to the indian DNA.

How can they be happy when even Pakistan's own constitution condemns them to second-class status? Pakistan was created by Muslims and only for Muslims. In this context, CAB makes complete sense.

Where is the evidence for your claims?

. . .
What do we expect from these Filthy gutter rats ? Lying and treachery is in their DNA ..
the thing which world don't understand that in Pakistan, Common Pakistan don't hate Hindu or Sikhs or Christians, but it was the talibani culture , the Extremists idea which were embalmed by Zia ul Na Haq , which leads to a religiously hypocritical society , If its up to common Pakistani's they will open their hearts and towns for people from any religion .
As for countries such as India where Hindu's of all professions of society hate Muslims, their police, judges, actors , artists , Journalists , priests etc .

Well the thing is, I heard a wolf and the lamb story in my childhood. I know they are after Pakistan, no matter how clean and good we become. Better, prepare for the ultimate match.

With due respect for your opinion, Indians innately and genetically are cowards thats the reasons Muslims far less in population during Mughal Era ruled them for centuries, and after that the Brits ruled the for another 100 years.

If Pakistan becomes stronger economically, I can challenge you that they will start to lick your feet. Pakistan despite seven times smaller country has been facing India eye to eye. Look at the Kashmiris , just tiny population havnt once blinked. You have to be aggressive with them. As they say barking dogs never bite. Thats indians for you.

Just because Pakistan was created for Muslims doesn't mean you should lie.

Who was India invented for? Answer that without mentioning Pakistan if you can

Two things:
We not only ruled them, we done tremendous things for them too. So their status was never a slave under muslim rules, as the cabinet of Akber may be seen for example.
Secondly, I have seen these 'cowards' murdering muslim populations in Gujrat and Kashmir. Better be cautious.
No matter how big is the animals, after its death, maggots eat it.

Taking your second point forward, they killed Muslims in Gujarat or Kashmir because they were powerful there, state was behind them, they had all the resources, while the Muslims were unarmed, poor and were saving families. I still believe Indians are cowards , but you have to show them strength. Once Pakistan is stable economically, Indians would come begging for better relationship.

That's true actually.

.
The problem is, Pakistan has failed to expose India and its lies. Pakistan does not have any 5th gen warfare capabilities and has histroically failed to understanbd its importance.

Good post. I have always thought this was the case that the non-Muslim population was higher in the then East Pakistan but much lower in West Pakistan's at Independence.

Thanks for posting.
