Pakistan Replaces India, Sri Lanka Military Training Expands
The two Sri Lankan military officers, Wing Commander Shantha Dassanayake & Major Channa Harischandra, who returned to Sri Lanka after the Indian government decided to repatriate them succumbing to pressure from Tamil Nadu parties who were protesting against Sri Lankan military personnel being given training in Tamil Nadu, are expected to be provided training in Pakistan instead.
Sri Lanka is currently in the process of seeking other alternatives, Pakistan is willing to offer these two officers placement there. When inquired from the military spokesman Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasuriya, regarding this new development, he did not rule out the possibility of these two officers being offered the opportunity to attend the Command and Staff College, in Quetta Pakistan.
The Command and Staff College, Quetta, is the oldest and the most prestigious institution of the Pakistan Army.
