ISLAMABAD - Top government and military officials from Pakistan and Afghanistan held an important meeting in Islamabad in which Afghan officials tried to present some kind of evidences to Pakistan against the Taliban and Haqqani network links with Pakistan.

Pakistan rejected the evidence’ shared by Afghanistan regarding the recent spate of attacks by the Taliban in the war-torn country but pledged to cooperate with Kabul to eliminate terrorism, official sources said.

Earlier in the day, Afghan Interior Minister Wais Ahmad Barmak and National Directorate of Security Chief Mohammed Masoom Stanekzai visited Pakistan, carrying a message from President Dr Ashraf Ghani for Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

The Afghan team held a meeting with PM Abbasi to discuss the growing tension. The meeting was also attended by Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Inter-Services Intelligence Chief Lt Gen. Naveed Mukhtar, Chief of General Staff General Bilal Akbar, Afghan Envoy to Pakistan Dr Omar Zakhilwal and other officials.

Soon as the Afghan delegation left Pakistan, the federal cabinet gave a 60-day extension in the Proof of Registration Cards for Afghan Refugees. The cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi decided that the PoR will be valid until the end of March.

The validity of legal refugee status for many Afghan refugees expired on January 31. Pakistan has extended the validity of PoR for the refugees at least six times in the past. The last time, the extension was granted only for a month. This was the shortest extension ever granted.

Senior government officials said Pakistan tried to convince the Afghan delegation that their allegations were ‘mere misunderstanding’ which could be removed through talks.

“We have seen their evidence which is only a bunch of allegations. We will still investigate and help them (Afghanistan),” one official told The Nation.

Another official said the talks will continue and Pakistan was optimistic the dialogue process will remove the misunderstandings.

“There has been a consensus on better intelligence-sharing. They (the Afghan delegation) spoke about taking up the (terrorism) issue in the United Nations (accusing Pakistan-based militants of terror attacks in Afghanistan),” he added.

After the meeting, Afghan Deputy Head of Mission in <link>Islamabad <link> Zardasht Shams said the visiting delegation had a detailed meeting with PM Abbasi and senior officials.

Again, the government clowns here are entertaining the concerns of foreign imposed agents in A-stan. These agents, like this so called spy chief, do not represent ordinary afghan people who are fighting against these foreign agents. So Why would the clowns here in Pak continue dealing with these impostors?

Afghan's are up to Indian style propaganda on social media. The level of enmity has skyrocketed. Pakistan going too hard on them will give more space to India thus we have to balance our actions with extensions and aids.

. .
They are our enemy, no doubt in that. Our relation with them will never see the light of the day, they are egoistic scums. They're an even bigger threat to us than India because they've integrated well into our society and will bite us hard. Also, it's never in a country's interests to deteriorate its relation with its neighbours as it'll most likely result in self isolation. Build the fence, deport the refugees and then diplomatically engage the Afghan government and the people.

These Pakistani leaders will be brought back to earth very soon. A narrative is being built and Trump will continue to unleash attacks against Pakistan. Afghanistan will also continue to show hostility and bitterness towards Pakistan. Drone strikes will also be ramped up. Unlike our promises the Americans have a 100% record of delivering on their promises.

Let me assure you. These Pakistani leaders are going to be pressed against the wall. They will be crucified, humiliated and destroyed. Let them continue to show weakness. They can't escape pressure by extending refugee stay and by showing willingness to cooperate with the USA. The simple truth is that Pakistan can never give the US what it seeks. The US will never be satisfied. Time cannot be bought. Unless Pakistan doesn't undermine its core interests all these fake and cosmetic goodwill gestures amount to invisible air.

The downside is that Pakistan is once again weakening its narrative and standing by backtracking on earlier made promises. There is a price to be paid. The price is costly.

Afghanistan is a lost cause, forget Afghanistan they cant even look after Kabul, Pakistan is not responsible for your security, Why does Afghanistan not seal the border with Pakistan to prevent these attacks if they think Pakistan is the bogeyman, A nation does not survive unless it stands on its own feet, they should learn from Pakistan how to take the fight to the terrorists, but wait Afghans are too busy on smoking hash and opium.

These Godfather idiots are totally spineless, now I have seen the news they have extended the stay of the Afghan refugees for another two months, this is totally unacceptable given that the US has threatened to come into Pakistan at any time, As a pre-emptive measure they should suspend all the supplies immediately and send all the refugees back to increase the pressure on the ungrateful Afghans and Americans.
