We wont lose anything if trade between afghanistan and india is blocked ...We can import it from other countries instead of developing chabahar port ( which USA dont like) .we have money we will get from point B if not possible with point A..
It is afghanistan's problem

New Delhi: Pakistan has refused to sign the motor vehicle agreement and to open up the road link for India and Afghanistan. Instead it has asked India to conduct trade via the Karachi port, sources said.

Sources within the Indian establishment said Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani has told Pakistani leadership if they do not open up the road to India, it will deny Pakistan access to Central Asia.

Speaking exclusively to CNN-IBN, Chief Executive Officer of Aghanistan Abdullah Abdullah said, "Pakistan want to expect Afghanistan to be open as far as their access to Central Asia is concerned and its very natural for Afghanistan to expect from out Pakistan neighbours to open up."

"If Pakistan wants access to Central Asia, it must respond in kind," Abdullah said.

Few thoughts;
  • In Pakistan - Afghanistan trade equation, India is not a factor.
  • In Pakistan - India trade, Pakistan has several problems to settle with India and in these problems, Afghanistan is not a factor.
  • In Afghanistan - India trade, Pakistan is an essential factor.

If Afghan President is talking of trade with India in India, it better have some means doing it without Pakistan and if talk is to have trade through Pakistan, they have to be held in Pakistan bringing all Pakistan-India problems in the equation. There is no other option unless India wants to do trade with Afghanistan through China or through Arabian Sea.

You are trying too hard. You give yourself away easily.

Dream on. The same non-sense was presented five years ago. How much of that materialized we all know
.

Pak will never be safe considering the inherent tendency to self-destruct.

1) I am trying too hard of what? I've always said I am pro-Pakistan. But doesn't mean that I am making stuff up like you do to show India a very colorful country to the world, when its not. My stuff has backings by the WB, IMF and the Bloomberg.... and PLEASE be ready, you are about to lose some business in hi-tech, research and educated labor to Pakistan. Mark my words and watch the time and date. Come back on here and respond to my post in 2018 with your thoughts. I am sure you'd be hating Pakistan even more at that time.

3) Dream on...?? What dream? There is Gawader being built, there are motor ways, metro systems being built, there are large, medium and small power plans being built......what is there to "Dream" about? The work's already begun, the largest effort in Pakistani history. What's there to dream about? No one's talking about projects that don't exist. We are talking about things that are in works RIGHT this second, in construction phases to be precise.

3) Pakistan and India both have the same issue. Both have crazy religious nutt cases, one belonging to Islam, the other side, to Hindu fanatics. People will be just as unsafe or safe (however you want to classify it), on either side of the border. To your point, India is also on self destruct as the religious nut jobs you elected to run your country, will turn it from a civil democracy to a Hindutva-dictatorship where everyone will be forced to be a Hindu or get killed like they've been doing to minorities in large scores for years!!!

BTW, you don't have to respond to this thread just out of hatred for Pakisan. If you don't like the topic, go elsewhere, at least don't use silly logic that wastes others time. This post I responded to, had -10 factual content!!!

Me too. But then I also know the answer. India and Afghanistan DO NOT have an option without Pakistan. Pakistan is the ONLY way to that combines the other two. So India has, and will ask again and again. Pakistan plays the most important role here to link India and Afghanistan. But it won't happen due to their national security concerns.

Time for India to think about a no war and no terrorism pact with Pakistan. That might help. I am in favor of both countries doing trade to reduce tensions and allowing people to people relationships so peace can prevail like the EU model.

And not just access but a secure access which in Afghanistan case we dont have ......
looking at the economic and political situation of pakistan, they dont need access to central asia. they have nothing to offer. Moreover, India and Afghanistan should not risk their trade through pakistan. Who knows when some suicide bomber kills himself and destroys indian goods.
Then don't Request To Open the Link, Remain In you holes

Dry fruits ...I mean they want to open their market in india ( trade) Like we r doing with china

The "dry fruits" that blow up in Pakistani markets filled with public? Or the ones that fire automatic bullets on children and security personal? Or the ones that go to Baluchistan to create anti-Pakistan militias?

The Pakistani security establishment says fukk the dry fruits. They're happy with the wet fruits they grow inside Pakistan.

we have already given them access to import duty-free through karachi which pakistan is also suffering in form of summugling into pakistan whoes total net worth of smuggled had been set at 80% of all imports into Pakistan

if Afghans dont allow access to CA we can block their access and Landlock country will be starving as most of trade of afghanistan is done through pakistan

All the more reasons for Chabahar. If the cards are played rightly, this situation can be used to great advantage.

LOL, do you know how much surplus costs going from Chahabar can be? You think India is stupid that it hasn't seriously thought about it or the Iranians don't have 10-20 billion to build a port there if it was THAT important??? Think about these things before posting crap.

Pakistan, through Gawader isn't really looking at "global trade" at THIS time. Its ONLY trying to cater for the 350 million Chinese on the West side of China. The revenue, business and economic uplift generated through supporting such a large Chinese population alone will take Pakistan straight into the top 20 economies. Supporting West Chinese population and collecting revenue over it, is like you collected taxes from 1.5 times the Pakistani population, but didn't have to spend a dime in public welfare as that's not your citizens, can it get any sweeter than this??

Once the Pakistanis have the infrastructure ready to support 1.5 times additional population they'll be sending / receiving goods and services for, they'll then think about the world, the Central Asia, etc, etc. Supporting West China alone is more than enough to turn Pakistan into a modern, advanced and rich country.

India and Iran on the other hand need Chahabar primarily for Afghanistan, who's system, people and population isn't significant enough for such a large investment in many billions.

Plus the route from Chahabar to Afghanistani border is a lot more distance than cutting through Pakistan in like 15-20 hours by road. There is a reason someone said that Pakistan sits on the most strategic point on the world map.

It can connect 3 billion people together or it can keep them away!! Right here, is advise for India if she wants to do trade by road with the Chinese, the Central Russians and the Russia herself. Iran is too long, too costly and not so keen with this Chahabar crap, the main interest there is one Indian Navy's outpost near Pakistan, that's it.

India should join the trade route, finally start to realize War with Pakistan is a case almost similar to Earth collapsing into Sun one day. The Pakistan you knew till 2014, is not the same Pakistan going forward. You'll actually be dealing with a very assertive Pakistan going forward. See how they reacted to KSA's request for Yemen. That right there is how the future would be for Pakistan. It'll dictate its own terms and conditions within a few years as the economy grows. It is the 6th largest country and the 7th largest military, meaning it has the potential in the next few decade to also be a 7th or 10th largest economy. Imagine that. Being in top 20 economies is a game of 3 years. The real game is to get to the top 10, which there is strong potential that exists.

The history needs to be buried by signing a No War pact, then working towards creating an EU type of an block. 3 Billion people connecting through the road an within a few hours flight is a LOT of leverage, opportunity and business for everyone to make money off of. Why not work together with the Pakistanis and help each other?

Well India has option....chahbhar port Iran
India always want to do direct trade with Pakistan the way we do with China....it is Pakistan who is reluctant

Chahabar port :omghaha::omghaha::haha::haha: !!!! I just wrote the reality behind it literally a few minutes go. Read up on it. Chahabar post is ONLY to support the Indian Navy's presence closer to Gawader as a primary reason.

Iran has the money, if this was SO strategic from a business standpoint, it would've spent 10-20 billion by herself. There are smart people in Iran. All smart people don't live in India. Afghanistan isn't as big of a country, population wise that you'd try to do what the Chinese are doing for Pakistan. Chahabar has little importance to a strategic post. It's too far from Afghanistan, products get way more expensive by adding 2 times the fuel cost than what comes from Gawader. So have at it, and good luck :enjoy:

By the way, expect some serious competition, and losing business around IT, Management, R&D to the Pakistanis. They are about to take a giant slice of the offshore / BPO pie that India enjoys right now. Watch how this unfolds in the next 3-5 years. If I was India, I'd be worried about this part, where I could lose $ 100-200 billion worth of off-shoring and labor business. Not Chahabar!
