Does PAK government publish data about import in which we will now how much are spend on capital goods, consumer goods, and other ? I got the data for Indonesia

Pakistan does publish data regularly.

Yeah computer industry was a big miss. If you guys have developed the proper infrastructure just for that. Millions of people would have been alleviated from poverty when US was outsourcing these tech jobs . Even as simple as a data entry job would put food on a lot of tables

Indians rake in $124 billion/year exporting these menial outsourced jobs and bring all those USD back to their country. Even half of that would’ve bring in $62 billion/year to pakistan in these tech jobs

I have worked 8 years with a US Tech Giant.
There were Indians all around me, here in the UK, Centres in India, in the USA, in Europe etc.
My job was such that I was constantly in touch with different teams scattered around the globe.

Textile has the biggest contribution, further Agricultural, sports goods, chemicals, carpets, IT, services. Medical exports are a new addition.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has revealed that under the leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, Pakistan has received 60 billion dollars against export of goods and services and remittances, despite the pandemic.

On Tuesday, the Minister shared the graph of inflow of exports and remittances which showed that the figure is 10 billion more than the remittance recorded in 2018 which was 50 billion dollars during tenure of PML-N.

It is far far better than having $58 billion imports against $20 billion export. Remaining $38 billion was still short by $20 Billion after $18 billion remittances.

I agree, establishment of industrial base is the way to go.
Then again, why it wasn't done in the past!!

Those crooks were more interested in trophy projects, in the words of crook SS.
In return we got train service in Lahore costing billions to run. Rapid Bus Service in Multan, not used by many.
With no policies on how the country would progress, how it would sustain itself in the tough and competitive world!! Had criminal Dar responsible to run the economy. He ran it like he is , bend and crooked.

This government is at least trying to establish some sort of industrial base, with investment in projects which would produce locally.

Problem with those services multan-lahore projwcts they were built in "record time" with no ground base feasibility

Thus noe peshawar BRT has more traffic then lahore even though lahore is 5x bigger city and is 8x more expensive

I thin I have answered that question already.
It is all down to the corrupt thug Dar and PMLN.
They kept rupee's value artificially high. Thus, the imports were falsely considered cheap. While bankrupting Pakistan.

When Rupee found its true market value through market sources, the imports became expensive, thus the cost of goods became expensive. Plus Pakistani traders mostly are corrupt thugs, they loot the general public.
