Women can walk freely there. Rape cases are a lot lesser than their eastern neighbor.

Even then, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan and Iraq aren't safest countries and not even better economically than Pakistan.
I do accept the fact, Pakistan isn't one safest place if the criteria is economy and tourism, but the list given above is not making any sense to me.

The topic and the methodology of the report is related to tourism only. Taking it out of context is misleading. Pakistan is safe enough for its citizens, comparable in this regard to most countries of the world, and, importantly, has improved security steadily over the past year or two. Tourism is not a big part of Pakistan's economy anyway, and hence not as important as other factors.

Don't expect people who are at war with us to sing our songs. They are always going to negatively portray Pakistan.

The whole world knows that the likes of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria etc. are in a total breakdown. There is no comparison with countries like Pakistan, Nigeria and others mentioned in the list. They are not never going to mention war-torn countries on such feel good lists because this is largely their own doing. The guilt factor takes its toll.
