Pakistan produces its first tank gun

I always thought that HIT already manufactured tank guns, though I think that was licensed production of a Chinese gun. So is there anything new in the article? or does this article mean that Pakistan has now made a tank gun that is designed and built in Pakistan rather than earlier ones that were designed somewhere else.

to exercise western weapon option along with indigenous for future MBT fleet with a strengthened barrel . This will enable AKs and AZs to use long rod penetrators. Good development by Pakistan.
