What's new

Pakistan ordered AKINCI UCAV. Pakistan will be one of the first users of the AKINCI system

On Mars !!!! India where else

This idea needs to be studied. First increase them to 30000 or 40000 and if it is successful then even further.

You can increase the body count but you do not have the equipment and logistics capability to carry it out let alone sustaining it, more so your Navy is sitting duck in water to be made scrap metal in a full on conflict without any proper air cover. Also, down the road India is getting upgraded through US equipment, that alone is another challenge which will put India way ahead of us.

Hence, he went into the details regarding US Navy.

Hence, you need hybrid capability via drones, missiles, EW, unmanned naval vehicles, mini sub-marines etc...

What is the next step? For example, with 4 Akıncı, you can keep 32 BVRAAMs in the air 24/7. This can allow you to perform CAP missions with less jets. On top of that, it can enable you to build an air defense network that is deployed directly in the air.

4 AKINCI UCAVs to carry 32 BVRAAMs in the air 24/7 to protect Turkish Navy Warships from Anti-Ship Missiles

in naval operation there is a requirement for increased warning time against low flying anti-ship missiles that orginate from beyond the horizon of the Ship based Radar

to use UCAV based Radar is a promising solution, because an airborne platform has longer horizon than Ship based Radar that will provide over the horizon detection and tracking capability for Ship self defence

for example the Ship based Radar horizon for a Frigate-Destroyer is 25-30 km

on the other hand AKINCI UCAV can detect anti-ship missile from 100 km away

Yes, but we lack the funding to build a sizable force & our combined arms approach isn't as strong either.
The Pak Deep State maintains a deep financing capability via running a deep economy, so for the critical systems money is always arranged, at the least history says so....

02/27 showed the PAF had all the right equipment at the right points; whereas, the IAF had all the wrong equipment at the wrong points! I am pretty sure the financing came from the "Gaib"....

It's costly of course, but its worth it afterall. If you talk of India, apart from the land borders, it has a very long sea flank as well. If our marines develop an offensive capability, Indians will be forced to raise or deploy major chunk of their forces for protection of their coasts.

However, such operations come with their own set of complex problems.

An amphibious assault against a defended shore is perhaps the most difficult of all military operations, much harder than even a paratroop operation. It requires absolute local sea supremacy and an undisputed air superiority. The Allied landing of five divisions on the Normandy coast in 1944 involved there and a half years of preparation and a host of other operations ranging from Dieppe to Anzio for experience.

A forced landing is not something to be taken lightly. The only country today in a position to make such landings is the US, which maintains an approx 200k Marine Corps along with more than 70 large specialized landing ships. To cover its landings, the U.S. Marine Corps uses fighter cover from its own fighter squadrons operating off its massive assault helicopter carriers (including 40,000-ton ships), and fighter and gunfire support from the huge U.S. Navy armadas. A landing could be covered by atleast three giant aircraft carriers with 180 combat aircraft, 50 anti-submarine warfare aircraft, and upto 70 other specialized aircraft including tankers, ECM, and early warning planes. Some 30 frigates, destroyers, and cruisers would support such a force.
Lets say we deploy the marines as super Infantry capable of operation in 3 domains land, air, sea it should be set up as an offensive-Defensive force leading small but effective thrusts into enemy territory with self-sustainability.

Also like @Signalian said it's high time we expose the marines to coin-ops as well maybe have a contingent on rotation every 6 months to Siachen, Waziristan, Balochistan, and Kashmir to build up their skills.

Marines can be used in so many ways even with a limited budget it needs willpower and bigger dreams from the leadership.

They are already being used in COIN operations. For many years now.

Don't expect an air to air mission from Akıncı. A vehicle with a speed of 130-160 knots is limited in what it can do. Also, there is no aesa radar yet.
