Actually, this particular type of "hack" is actually called a 'defacement', it has no critically dangerous effects because the hackers can't really access the database that contains sensitive information, all they do is change the website's client-side appearance in most cases.I'm aware of various pakistani hacking groups and communities on social media and I can tell you that those hackers have been targeting websites with ".in" domain names, childish? yes, but such activities are common among nationalist hacker communities around the world.
