Pakistan no longer ‘up for sale’: NSA

he mean to say that price is low thora bhao bardhao
wise words of an old sage, a true veteran.

Of course, you can hold whatever opinions you are comfortable with as I know it will not change the reality that I do know about.
blaming everything on corruption or greed of the people in the country is easy. but you exonerate America and it's imperialist tendency too easily. it has a history of destabilizing and controlling many countries through any means possible, military and monetary. I would think Pakistan did pretty good for the cards it was dealt, at least Musharraf did what (he thought) was good for Pakistan, and Imran too is doing that. the Army is the one institution responsible for keeping Pakistan existent.

.
The Indians blame entire evil on mother earth on Pakistan Army. I am sure you would agree with that.
Don't listen to ch***, PA is a very, very important institution

But with checks and balances of some sort by civilians

I don't believe in a pure democracy I'll be blunt- it's not suitable for our realities

But I also believe checks and balances are required, no streamrolling of political class but a significant role of the establishment too
Another gem from this regime after the infamous "saintly" confession of the minister for civil aviation

Dunya vaalo hamaray pilot jaali degree valay hain hamara kuch kr lo

This govt is embarrassing us all . You don't go yap around settlling domestic politcal scores at the expense of your country's dignity no matter what . There are other ways and venues available to create a revolutionary vibe .

@Great Janjua @Ace of Spades
It's embarrassing that you're the only one who even talked about this

You know generations of my family have served and continue to serve in PA. For more than half a century PA was way out of subsistence farming and poverty. So am quite aware of the flaws in PA. But all said and done I am acutely aware the PA is the backbone of Pakistan. Take it out and Pakistan would have fallen apart decades ago. This is why the Indians and their lackeys despise it. But I know in the Pakistani context PA is vital and willremii vital for long time. Yes, I do agree we need increasing civilian oversight.

he Army is the one institution responsible for keeping Pakistan existent.

Of course. That is true for just about all countries and their armies, but it is the truest above all for Pakistan, since it has granted itself the exclusive rights to ensure Pakistan's existence to the active exclusion of all other institutions by machination.
he mean to say that price is low thora bhao bardhao

There are various forms: sale, rent, lease, hire-purchase etc. etc.

.
Too bad that I DO know. It is not the feudals, actually. I will say no more, for it is not something that I care to insist upon on PDF.

Of course, you can hold whatever opinions you are comfortable with as I know it will not change the reality that I do know about.

I am from here ... My family owns large lands and have been at top military positions...
You talking to me??

Landowners run Pakistan. They are the political class... It's a dynasty. Every Pakistani knows this. Living on PDF and reading Dawn news doesn't make you a Pakistani expert.

So ... Let's see. How smart you are .... Who are the real power in Pakistan then according to your Hindutva knowledge?

.
Actually no. The country was very pragmatic and strictly followed a policy of chasing the side with the butter. Thus in 1950s the country tilted to USA and China. The former was the only source of dollars and weapons to counter the much larger India. This was hard realism at work. And Pakistan got a windfall from it. From new capital city, new cantonments, F-104 Starfighters to Patton tanks all free courtesy of US taxpayer.

This continued in 1970s by Bhutto who smelled there was whole mountain of butter to be carved out in the newly rich Arab oil kingdoms. Petrodollars smelled nice. Thus Bhutto gathered all the Bedouins in a tent in Lahore to fleece them.

Al went well. However by 1980s with religion and mullacracy gaining ground pragmatism came under pressure and even attack as idealogues wanted to chase ummah dream and thus moved away from Pak centric strategy to a trans-Islamic utopian delusions. I feel Pakistan has still not recovered from this hallucination.
You have a rather comical or shall I say selective understanding of history...The ummah project started under Bhutto who contrary to your assertion didn't milk anyone in fact he bankrupted the nation through his idiotic nationalization policy and ruined all the state run institutions along with bureaucracy by large scale jiyala inductions and taking the legal cover away from bureaucracy. We had brief resurgence in the 80's when the economy boomed and Pakistan projected an assertive foreign policy, defeated the Soviets in Afghanistan, held India at bay and put them firmly on the backfoot with the nuclear deterence, Kashmir and Sikh insurgencies.

Zia's successors both in the military and civilians realms lacked gravitas and weren't even half the men Zia was, hence couldn't handle the rigors of power and successively let the country slide into one debacle after another.

Imagine Musharraf the beer-bellied drunkard telling Bush, "Peanuts" or threatening Vajpayee with Nuclear strikes, the most that coward could do was stick his hand out to Vajpayee to beg him to shake his hand...

Actually, the US is not even making any demands as are being imagined and then vehemently denied.
The bases have been asked about by western journalists in interviews, and the PM has simply stated his position. That is it. You can see the interview on HBO where it all started.

.
The Americans are meeting with nani Maryam and batty boy Bilawal.

.
Mian sanp the great, All Rounder. Didn't even appoint foreign minister to save nation's $. Bring back Mian sb.
Master of family diplomacy. Whenever mian sb went on foreign trips, he took his whole family with him to scare the host and disturb his food supply.
Jiyo Nawaz Sharif

So basically he is saying that up until very recently, Pakistan's so called leadership, both civilian and military, USE TO SELL Pakistan's interests. But now they do not want to sell it anymore. OK. Only time will tell. OLD HABITS ARE HARD TO LET GO OFF !

.
Now Pakistan is available for free... just use proper channel or may i say supreme channel.

Ah yes, but a hypothetical question by a journalist fishing for an impulsive sound bite, that was obliged ill-advisedly, does not actually qualify as a US request for anything. :D

Who said US requested it? Neither IK said it nor has the govt said it, infact they even clarified US has not asked about any bases - probably because the govt has killed the proposition preemptively. Unless you mean Sheikh Rashid.

Why is it impulsive to say what he said? Agree or not that has been his position for more than a decade. The airspace corridor seems to be in contention though, but based on the public messaging so far it looks tough.

As long as the above is clearly understood, I have no issues at all regarding this matter.

Is your NSA trying to suggest that your country sold itself for dollars up.until.now

looking after ones own interest... is this not what all human animals even do let s lone a state of 220 million.

it's such a,an obvious statement
I don't think it will register in north America if that was his idea

As he speaks the us navy has indian navy admiral.singh on board the nimitz carrier group forging even closer ties.

if your nsa thinks a,statement like that will mean any thing any where I think you will.very disappointed

USA is looking after usa ie itself
that means quad. period
