Pakistan Military To End Reliance on American GPS Navigation System

.
We have 5 or 3 erieyes ???
We can't use Chinese navigation for.western equipment but can for our own jf17 alkhalid alzarar tanks and Black ops for which we don't want USA to know our position :)
You just add Beidou receivers to the aircrafts that work with GPS.. I think Egypt has added the Glonass receivers to its fighters.. this needs to be confirmed though.. but if a smartphone is able to receive signals of GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou so I think a fighter can..

1. Relatively safe approach is to develop and utilize a home-grown system, but easier said than done.

2. GPS system have its share of advantages which other networks do not match and/or offer. Therefore, reliance on GPS can be reduced but not eradicated.

3. Pakistani armed forces have access to Beidou system due to procurement of Chinese arms - not sure why this is news.

4. Electronic warfare can disrupt signals of a number of systems regardless.

As per my understanding most military systems and ballistic missiles also have Inertial navigation, GPS adds more precision. Also used as a reference for pre designated targeting.

So even with US GPS gone our assets will be able to navigate. Also in Iraq one of the major issues US faced was that militants had access to cheap GPS jammers which affected bombing. Using multiple GPS platforms helps diversify.

Even car thieves use GPS jammers to disable car trackers and I think you can buy one for equivalent $100.

In fact the tracker I have on my car is GSM Tower+US GPS+GLONASS, and if it detects any one being jammed or unavailable gives a alarm to the tracking company.

80 F-16s, 2000 JDAM kits, 5 Erieyes , ships , a thousand radios , GPS kits and so on say otherwise.

It cannot be done

The news says the decision is to end reliance not use. And who knows the Chinese have invented a Beidou to GPS adapter?
