Pakistan Meat Paradise - NALLI NIHARI + TIKKA in Gujranwala | Pakistani Street Food Tour!

I would stay away from meat in Pakistan. Not worth taking risk. Grilled chicken if you are on vacation and have to eat outside. Also keep activated charcoal tablets with you all the time.

I have never had Nihari or Biriani. Both seem to be from India. It looks so yucky and over spiced, drowning in oil. I like karahi, lightly flavoured, grilled meat again lightly spiced with lots of salads and yoghurt. Not only is it tasty but also healthy. The only food I would eat there was the grilled meats and karahi.
a well done Biriyani is amazing. My personal favourite way of having rice is lamb pilau, heavy on the seasoning and the butter. Biriyani is great though, cooked properly of course.

Next time i'm in Pakistan i'm going to go when there are no family weddings or funerals, spend a few weeks outside of AJK.

Me as well. What is the differance between Pilau and Biriani?

Pilau is cooked with seasoning, but it in itself isn't very spicy. When we cook it at home we add extra masala to give it more of a flavour, but it's never at a point where it is "hot" in terms of spice.

Biriyani is cooked with more spices and also is often layered between rice and "curry-like mixture" so that the spices infuse more of the rice. I find most restaurant Biriyani in the UK to be quite poor in quality though.

My wife tends to make a hybrid between pilau and biriyani if i ask for Biriyani. She'll cook a boneless chicken pilau, but add a bag of briyani mix, so we get the browning of the rice and the heavy spicy taste.

Also one of my favourites that mum does is like a keema pilau with a bag of mixed veg chucked in (peas, sweet corn, carrots, beans, not broccoli or that kind of stuff though). You keep the ratio of keema to rice high (so there is plenty of keema and veg in it) and it's really quite nice.

I want to try camel meat and milk or ostrich meat and egg.
Ostrich meat is very stringy; we dont eat here; too many ostriches around. Man, you want to eat ostrich egg? You will have one mother of heart burn; very high acidic.

Pakistanis eat so much red meat. Its sometime scary to think about the consequences. Red meat is really harmful.
In Bangladesh we eat beef / mutton but once in a week or month or on occasion only still doctor says we Bangladeshis used to eat beef / mutton rarely once or twice in a year but now a days we eat it weekly or monthly basis that's why we have so many cardic patients in our country which was not common in previous times.

it is a logical consequence of combining red meat with heavy dosed oil specifically hydrogenated palm oils. That is a perfect reciepe for cardiac arrests. I saw it labeled in Fordsburg where i pick up my annual rice consignments as vegetable ghee... when i looked at the detailed hydrogenated palm oil; we dont find this in our SA stores where it is not allowed for consumption; here it is primarily maize or vegetable seed oil. Palm is only in industrial use.

It depends on who cooked it. If the chef cooked it bad then shoot him.
no friend ... kitchen is a good place.. no such thing allowed. Good suggestions are needed. I love tripe; not sure if u guys cook it there?

The only good nihari is the camel meat nihari made in Karachi but its not something you would want to eat everyday unless you want a heart attack.
