Pakistan may study other fighter options as US asks Pakistan to make full payment for F-16 purchase

.
Neither happy nor sad. It's business. Nothing personal.
Exactly. I am not saying Indians are very nice. But what do you expect from your competitors? If we have economic clout at Washington (through our diplomatic lobby), are we supposed to request Obama to expedite the F-16 sales to Pakistan? Common sense really...

. .
Well i for one never claim that they are perfect or all there decision are right. I do however believe that they have more sense then to bash a war proved fighter aircraft. They do understand the advantages F16 brings that we normally tend to forget. Since these advantages have been debated time and time again, i do not see the need to repeat but if you have any doubts, let me know and i will be happy to update you regarding that.

And yes, as a Pakistani, it is your right to point fingers at the mistakes and try to get then corrected.
Thanks and again
Thanks to decisions, PAF is far more advanced than it's first adversary.

I don't know why Pakistanis are so happy.

For a sovereign nation, another country is indirectly saying that we know you guys are poor but we won't foot your bills from now on. Give money and take the deliveries.

In all these, its us Indians who are getting our hearts broken, having a budget of 46 billion USD that Pakistan is struggling to pay 700 million USD for 8 ancient F-16s,..... yeah right. :-)

The thing is that had you paid full attention, you would know that this offer came straight from the Obama administration. I know there are a few nut jobs on this forum who are in denial, but that doesn't change the reality. Now, the Americans are suddenly changing the deal which is fine by me. In fact, I applaud it. Reason being? We don't want American hardware which is highly sanction prone and always comes attached with a zillion strings. The US congress folks are doing us a huge favor by being a thorn.

Bottom line, the Americans can keep their F-16s, financial aid and other bribes. Pakistan needs to stop humiliating itself time and time again. Pakistan is somehow still under the illusion that the US is an "ally". It is not an ally. It is a foe. The Americans have done everything in their power to harm Pakistan as much as they could. We don't want American financial and military aid. The Americans shouldn't be allowed to have any clout over Pakistan.

It is very difficult to Lobby in favour of Pakistan ; in the US

He has served your country for a long time ; have some respect

Even if you appoint A Young man in his place ; He CANNOT get these F 16s for you
no politician serve my nation till this day, they only serve their pockets and intrests. and thats what all people yelling on pdf that we dont want these f16s, US can roll them and shove them up their ***:angry:

Albeit, Sartaj Aziz is past his shelf life but this time the media has muddled up his vwords.
What he said in his statement is in line with what a high level PAF delegation led by Air Chief conveyed to Washington last year, ''Basically, this is not the 90s, if you are not willing to sell or if there are hurdles, we have other readily available options''. .... both countries have until end of May to come to a conclusion.....keep in mind that the supply of these 8 aircraft wasn't due till 2018.

World is not black and white. It's shades of grey. All 50 of them and some more.

But now the US is in ELECTION season

This decision has been taken by REPUBLICAN leaders in US Congress
Bob Corker is the Chairman of the Senate Foreign relations committee

He is a republican

If Obama overrules them then His party will suffer

Democrats will look weak and Hillary will LOOSE

So this decision will stand and the NEXT President will take a Final call

Don't be such a fool. We can pay for the F-16s, but we're not going to do that. They aren't worth 700 million. Pakistan was only going for the deal due to the coalition fund. We aren't getting the coalition fund, so we aren't going to get the F-16s. We could rather spend much of the 700 million on a more potent aircraft which we certainly can and definitely will.

See.... for me its simple. You guys curse America as much as you can.... but then, why does your beloved PAF run to USA to buy F-16s on aid money? (sugar coated as "subsidy for war on terror").

Then, if A doesn't work out, your government has Plan B, which is, surprise surprise, get second hand F-16s (which incidentally still requires US nod) and then say USA is bad.....

Lol,, so our diplomacy and foreign policy is down to what Sartaj Aziz "say's" now. Pathetic. the government have lost its spine, we dont even have a proper foreign minister to counter the Indian influence and lobby. They wont be much troubled with what Sartaj Aziz have to "say" now!!
there is another angle to it was well. The military guys must understand that the balance of International Relations has shifted in Asia right after indians agreed to be used as a vessel state against China militarily ever since the recent American Def. Min. visit to india.

This now changes everything. And dont even think any good from America since now this is the first of many things to come not just for Pakistan but for entire Asia as well.

This however gives us more avenues too and the Indian decision to grant them their land against China should be used to persuade the Chinese n specially Russians to seriously think to sell us more advanced stuff and build a strategic partnership as well. @Windjammer
