Pakistan & Maldives to boost defence cooperation
Pakistan and the Maldives have agreed on enhancing cooperation in the defence sector.
The Maldives high commissioner to Pakistan Aishath Shehenaz Adam called on Rear Admiral Farookh Ahmad, the additional secretary at the ministry of defence, in Rawalpindi in connection with defence deals.
Pakistan has approved military assistance to the Maldives as a “gesture of goodwill and diplomatic fraternity”, a press statement said.
The military assistance would includes vehicles, and medical and other equipment required by the Maldives in order to augment security during a summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to be held there Nov 10-11.
