ISLAMABAD: Pakistan summoned Afghanistan’s ambassador in Islamabad to the foreign ministry and lodged a formal protest over the detention of an official of Pakistan Consulate General at Kandahar by Afghan authorities.

An official of the Pakistan Consulate General at Kandahar ‘was forcibly taken away and kept in detention,’ according to the Foreign Office.

“As a result of the strenuous efforts made by the Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul and the ministry, the detained official was handed over to the Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul late last evening,” the Foreign Office said, in a statement.

Further, Pakistan expressed concern over unprovoked firing by Afghan Border Police at Angoor Adda gate on Pakistan side in which two security personnel were injured.

“It was emphasised that in view of close and brotherly relations existing between the two countries, which have significantly enhanced recently, such incidents should not have taken place,” it added.

The Afghan ambassador assured that he would convey Pakistan’s concerns to the higher authorities in Kabul.

On Thursday, Afghanistan summoned Pakistan’s ambassador in Kabul, Abrar Hussain, to the foreign ministry and lodged a formal protest over the recent cross-border shelling.

Pakistan and Afghan officials have confirmed the exchange of firing late Tuesday that caused casualties on both sides of the border.

After operation Zarb-e-Azab completion kick all Afghans refuges out Pakistan. It is useless to deal with these bastard US spent 13 years in Afghanistan but failed to restore peace.Just mine all the border with them and we will be good.

.
Afghanistan is getting Nuthead ... they are infested with Drug , taliban and now ISIS ..

still their politics runs on Anti Pakistani matters

. .
Send sherdil squadron to lashkergah to drop some "roses" , maybe then the message gets through that thick awghan skull

This will hurt Afghanistan more then Pakistan. Their economy policies are link with Motorway to Kabul, coridoor to Russia from Gwadar, and Anti-Militancy stand with Pakistan to prosper Peace in Afghanistan. If they kept doing such stunt Pakistan can start ignoring Afghanistan. And that will hurt Afghanistan alot.

Agree Pakistan can't stop Afghan trade allowed routes, but if they stop maintaining those routes, the trade from Pakistani ports will become way to expensive and literally dead in future terms.

Pakistan should mine Afghan Boarder anyways, We can't afford any misadventures by India or Afghanistan. We have good future ahead.

This is would be a blunder ....and this is exactly what India would love to see ...After many decades Pakistan has come to some friendly relations with Afghanistan which is in very much in the interest of Pakistan ...why to slip away this chance now !

Decades of hatred now need some years of patience on both sides ...I have friends in Afghanistan and they tell me how much Ashraf Ghani is under pressure from different corners just because he choose to Pakistan to be friend with ...the recent attack on their parliament was one such pressure tactic upon Ghani ...the attack was planned by NDS ...blamed on Pakistan just to compel Ghani to reverse his policy against Pakistan !

That is EXACTLY we need to do something about them, other wise those Afghan camps around Peshawar, Karachi, Islamabad and Quetta will be Enemy battalions in Case of war, whether with India or Afghanistan.
They ARE ANTI PAKISTAN since 1947 and its not gonna change so it is our RESPONSIBILITY yo protect ourselves
