That is not an apt comparison mate.

USA
is one of the biggest countries in the world(3rd largest) and they have just 50 provinces(each one the size of a country) - and most developed.

India
is the 3 times smaller than USA with 4 times USA's population -that means we have more provinces per square kilometer - and we have just 35 political units - and we are one of the least developed countries of the world.

india needs more provinces and it is making new ones, east coast of USA has more population thus very small states, on the west and the inner USA, there is very sparse population, also USA states are like countries, thats why it is called united states, the states can't be compared to provinces in india or pakistan

Its not about number of provinces, its about Governance.

As per system runing in Pakistan, it has 4 provinces, 130 districts. Problem is not less provinces, but no district government, which should administer cities.

My recommendation is no provinces, with district only government kind of setup. This will increase more accountabilty and administration.
