Pakistan has invited Turkey to join the multi-billion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, which would benefit both countries, official media said Nov. 8.

"Pakistan highly values its relations with Turkey, and the new government desires to further strengthen relations between Islamabad and Ankara, said Asad Qaiser, speaker of the National Assembly, while speaking with Turkey’s ambassador to Pakistan Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul.

Yurdakul met with Qaiser in his office at Parliament House in Islamabad.

According to state-run Radio Pakistan, Qaiser invited Turkey to join CPEC, which will benefit all countries in the region.

CPEC, a $64 billion megaproject signed in 2014, aims to connect China's strategically important northwestern Xinjiang province to Pakistan’s Gwadar Port through a network of roads, railways and pipelines to transport cargo, oil and gas.

The economic corridor will not only provide China with cheaper access to Africa and the Middle East but will also earn Pakistan billions of dollars for providing transit facilities to the world’s second-largest economy.
Turkey’s ambassador also vowed to strengthen relations with Pakistan.

"The Turkish people always consider Pakistan as their second home, and we wish to see this country always strong and prosperous," Yurdakul said.

Yurdakul also extended an invitation to Qaiser to attend the second League of Parliamentarian Conference for Al-Quds, which will be held on Dec. 14 in Istanbul.

Saudis are already in. Turks would be too soon. Keep your conclusions to yourself.

CPEC, Chinese package are none of your concern. Only thing that concerns you is that CPEC violates your territorial integrity and even in that case you can't do anything.

As the second home of turkey, turkey should also help pakistan go through the bad ecnomic situation just like KSA

What kind of question is this? What are the benefits of any Investment? You get Return on investment what else?

Investments are not always profitable, why should Turkey invest in something that only benefits Pakistan and China directly?

.
So what are those returns? Not every investment gives returns, what’s in it for the Turks?

Are you stupid to think KSA and China invest in Pakistan out of brotherly love?

I imagine for Turks then return would be 0 with Pakistan. Especially considering Pak would sell out Turkey to KSA and China anytime.

Such an idiotic comment.

Pakistan compartmentalises its relationships. What we do with KSA or China has no bearing on what we do with Turkey.

Its a mega project, Pakistan feels there's business to be done with Turkey.

Invite is there, to join or not to join is entirely up to Turkey. They'll have to decide based on their own assessment of things.

What are the economical benefits for Turkey?

I think the questioner meant what exactly would Turkey be investing in and what kind of benefit (if financial then what % of profit) could be expected?

Since CPEC has a major infrastructure element to it, what can Turkey hope to get out of building roads and railway links in Pakistan?

Are benefits limited to finance - i.e they give us a loan of some sort and we return it with interest, or invest in something like factory/industry like the Saudis are doing and benefit from the infrastructure being built?

Are there any strategic advantages to be gained? Special access to the Chinese market?

So the question was very good, I just think it wasn't properly communicated.

Maybe Turkish companies can take advantage of cheap Pakistani labor. Example if Turkish companies want to export some goods to China, South Asia, South East Asia, etc they can export from their pakistani manufacturing plants. It will save cost and also transport time.

There must be many similar scenarios which can benefit Turkish brothers.

Turkish companies will think twice before investing in Pakistan. Especially after Karkey fiasco.

What are the economical benefits for Turkey?

Arbitration cases.

Stupid comment.

We should invest in Pakistan heavily - this is true. Both nations would benefit immensely. However, no investment should be done in the context of CPEC; no Turkish money should be spent to strengthen China, not even indirectly.

Having said that, it's our duty to support Pakistan. I love them. The Turkish government has to support them. Trade is very relevant for both nations. Why not give Pakistan a bigger market share in Turkey? The currently negotiated FTA could be used to provide Pakistan a better access to the Turkish market.

Pakistan deserves it. They are more than just an ally.

So now that financial situation isnt good pak is inviting anyone so that the burden of payments to china can be shared. What economical benefits will turkey get from CPEC?
First not even a single Turkish bro comment on this so where do you come from...
