Good read, and really happy to know that Pakistan is doing really good in the economic front. Hope CPEC and other such projects prove to be a game changer.

Can you please tell me how much is $1 in Pakistan right now ?? It's something around Rs. 67 - 68 in Indian currency I guess.

Barely, 5.5% of Indian population pays taxes. Nearly 25-30% of Indian Economy is undocumented as well.
Moreover, for nominal poverty, it's 16.24% in nominal terms, not 21%. Over that it's 12.4% in PPP (WB) and just 7.7% in IMF.(PPP).

Hey, just was reading Dawn. Nearly 35.7% population of Pakistan (70 millions)' record is unavailable because of lack of census. I'm wondering how your poverty ratio, HDI and GDP per capita was calculated. Everything is rebalanced now.

I mean I think that they lack resources for census. That's the reason that no proper census could occur in past decade.

They take their data from the WHO, FAO, UNICEF and others if you are talking about the global hunger index.

GHI literally only compiles 4 published indices by the UN socioeconomic groups and makes an overall composite index of them.

Similarly the base source for my infant mortality, population growth rate, life expectancy etc are from the UN. The World bank just illustrates them on their website like so:

What do you mean lack of census?

I am yet to come across a Pakistani family which has less than 4-5 kids per family, and this is urban population. They have not carried out a population census for the last 18 years. I have been hearing about 190 million population for the last 10 year at least.

Well it could explain some of the discrepancies I was mentioning earlier.
