The issue is that we ourselves need the Americans to go. We're not doing them a favour, we are doing ourselves a favour. Once they are gone, we will have a much freer hand to turn things our way.

US has spent so much money (trillion), resources and time on this war. And at the end, they will just do piece talk with Taliban and leave? I am skeptical that they'll leave – Just think about it for a min.

And all this "piece talk" and withdraw troops sounds a perfect election pitch for Trump to me. Once re-elected, who knows what this clown will do. Also, if I am not mistaken they he said that time frame to withdraw US troops is like 15/20 months, which means US elections will be over.
