Newly-appointed Turkish Defense Minister Fikri Isik and Pakistani counterpart Khawaja Muhammad Asif met Friday in Islamabad to discuss bilateral defense cooperation Anadolu Agency reported

"One of the most important issues between [the two countries] is a deal for T129 attack helicopters," Isik said at a joint press conference held after the meeting.

The deal for the sale of the T129s -- a multi-role attack helicopter co-developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries -- will "further enhance our bilateral cooperation in the defense industry," Isik asserted.

The Turkish defense minister added that plans to purchase Pakistani-made Super Mushshak basic trainer aircraft were still in the pipeline.

He went on to note that the Pakistani authorities, for their part, had requested the purchase of four Turkish Ada-class corvettes (which would be built in Pakistan).

Isik also said that Turkey and Pakistan had begun discussing details of a cooperation deal by which Turkey would help modernize the Pakistani navy's fleet of three Agosta-class submarines.

Isik also met with Pakistani army chief General Raheel Sharif on Friday at Pakistani army headquarters in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.

At the meeting, the two men discussed regional security and defense collaboration, according to an army statement issued after the meeting.

Isik, for his part, voiced his appreciation for the Pakistani armed forces' contributions to the fight against terrorism and promotion of regional peace and security.

Its about time to take the brotherly relations between the two countries to a whole new level.

platform still have the same limitation that of pak navy this thing have almost no anti air capability(rim missile with the range of 9 km and price tag of 1 million per missile) and worst thing is it doesn't even have a cwis

So its all looks then. Capability wise its in the class of F-22P?

So it would add as a force multiplier along with F-22P? I dont see it any other way besides dont you think we should be looking at something in the class of Type-54 which would really provide a boost to our otherwise declining surface fleet?

Some reports are also suggesting thermal imaging sight of Altay and other systems will be integrated in AL KHALID II.

I wish if they test Altay too in Pakistan. A comprehensive package from Turkey ranging from Helis, Corvetts and Tanks would also bring costs down if deal is signed on govt to govt level.

I think it would be done soon.

Nice ships. would be better if you could get the TF-100, an ADA class with a SAM, but for coastal defense and as a small attack craft, the ADA gives good performance:

Got to believe a Chinese derivative, most likely FM-90, but maybe TY-90 will replace RAM:

No but Hisar can come @cabatli_53

yep even worse then f 22 p in some cases like missile defense as there is no cwis and no way Pakistan is going to buy a million dollar apiece missile it is too much expensive.last expendable munition we bought at this much price was an extremely potent force multiplayer MAR1 anti radiation missile and this tiny range rim can't even be considered a proper upgrade let alone a force multiplayer
