Pakistan has world's weakest higher education system, say QS rankings

Pakistan should ask China to start few universities in Pakistan itself or still better if China agrees to impart education to 10,000 Pakistani youths annually in best of their universities. That's what friends are expected to do.

10,000 is a huge number but they already sponser alot of pakstani p.hds and masters students every year i am one of them. but even if they give admissions to 10,000 students every year this will only make their universities ranking better not ours. we need to choose around 100 government universities and make them huge fundings for research purpose.

the problems isnt just with the universities. Students themselves no longer have the passion of receiving knowledge. They're just here for the piece of paper called a degree.

the first and most important thing our universities need is to ban the studets wings of political parties in the universities this thing is destroying our education. university is a place of gaining knowledge not to do politics.

congratulations pakistan. once again we came up to the expectations. corruption has devoured everything in this country and the materialism and the greed of the gen population and leadership is increasing day by day. things will get even worse.

tell me are you really satisfied with the higher education system in pakistan? are you satisfied with the quality of the edcuation being imparted to the students? are you satisfied with the current system of making education a "business" and looting people? are you satisfied with the research being done in our institutes and research methodology being taught in our educational institutes? are you satisfied with the level of cheating during the exams in sindh and all over the country? the videos that surfaced on the media of the exams being held in sindh were hilarious.

being the victim of that system i can f*****g vouch for that

Not really surprised.I have the experience of both studying in the pakistani system,British system and the russian system.
And from my observations i can tell you pakistani system is the lowest because our curriculum and the exam techniques don,t test the concepts and promote rote learning instead.
Currently doing ACCA and when i compare the syllabus with a local CA from ICAP that makes me laugh.Just making CA a bit more difficult by not defining the syllabus and updating it,not by giving importance on what,s important for a chartered accountant,failing students intentionally because of a quota system and later claiming it as superior because not everyone can bear their pathetic behavior and few can pass

Oh is that it? Then, You'll be shocked to see the system at MCS, my friend. You're at a much better place. Your expectations'd be much higher than us signalianz.

I understand that the condition of the military colleges isnt the most ideal, but just because we have a good infrastructure, doesn't mean we have achieved the milestones that an engineering university must be able to do.

Why i said to stop the madarsas is because of extremist teaching your this and next generations are getting. Teachings against a particular religion is not good. Stop it immediately.

Also relying on one country is not beneficial to your own system.

quality education and military training can't go together . it's impossible. now majority of the people here will talk about NUST colleges . it has it's advantages in terms of discipline and may be better then many colleges in civil set up in pakistan but they don't compare well with the best in pakistan or world.

Nust , Quaid -e- azam , Agha khan , PIES , Punjab university , LUMS all came in the top 700 ranking. It maybe bad compared to western standards but its better than most other nations whom did not have a single university ranked there.

Countries with 80-90 % literacy rates do not have universities ranked so high. I would say its great despite 60-65 % of literacy we have numerous universities in these rankings. Eg Bangladesh with 70 % literacy does not have a single university ranked in QS Compared to 6 in PK.
