It is, but only really from a political perspective. The measures taken thus far are pre-conditions for bailouts mixed with some balancing acts. However, if IK had stayed in power, he would have had to take almost exactly the same steps. So there’s really nothing too impressive here, the reforms need to go much farther and ideally shake the elite power structure.

The PDM coalition basically took over knowing they were in for a period of difficult economic conditions, but I think they perhaps underestimated the volume of the task at hand and the price they would pay. By mid-May however, even if they realised the full extent, it was already too late and they’ve politically committed. Plus, in their warped political minds, bowing out of government would look weak and like an Imran victory.

Lastly, whatever they’ve done is not enough. We see this pattern every few years, crisis comes, we go knocking on doors, IMF places conditions, governments take public anger for a year or two and then don’t follow up with reforms by the middle and end of their term. Then back to square one.

Very fair. Many PTI followers here credit Imran for devaluing PKR, but that is also just another IMF bailout condition which Imran was forced to implement. I've tried to explain the same reason that you have put forth here.
