Looks like understanding has been reached with all parties, the next G20 summit will indeed take place in Kashmir without any protests or ‘unwanted incidents.’

The current administration has taken a lot of unprecedented unpopular measures to cut subsidy and raise taxes. Why do you not think that it is impressive?Pakistan’s leaders (somehow) must be up to the task to do what’s needed long run, even if it means becoming unpopular. I don’t see it happening, but there you have it.
Shukria covid
Not specific to pakistan
Many countries got this relief
Shukria ishaq darBut then it was IK who requested the world to do so. Khair. I will still go with Shukria NS
It is, but only really from a political perspective. The measures taken thus far are pre-conditions for bailouts mixed with some balancing acts. However, if IK had stayed in power, he would have had to take almost exactly the same steps. So there’s really nothing too impressive here, the reforms need to go much farther and ideally shake the elite power structure. The current administration has taken a lot of unprecedented unpopular measures to cut subsidy and raise taxes. Very fair. Many PTI followers here credit Imran for devaluing PKR, but that is also just another IMF bailout condition which Imran was forced to implement. I've tried to explain the same reason that you have put forth here.It is, but only really from a political perspective. Lastly, whatever they’ve done is not enough. We see this pattern every few years, crisis comes, we go knocking on doors, IMF places conditions, governments take public anger for a year or two and then don’t follow up with reforms by the middle and end of their term. Then back to square one.
Our people took a VERY long time to kick the British Raj out, so maybe we wait a few more decades? We can again become the poorest place on earth (not that we’re far off), and then maybe we’ll accidentally produce some revolutionaries who can channel the people to kick out the current elite. Either that or we might end up producing some fascists to blow the place to “kingdom come” as IK hyperbolically suggested that the generals should have done.Hey, as long as it keeps working, why change the journey around and around the same roundabout? Let others take the highway if they want to go somewhere.
