Pakistan Prime Minister’s adviser on Security and Foreign Affairs warned the Iranian regime from supporting particular groups in Afghanistan, Pakistan Today reported.

Addressing a conference organized by the South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA) on Saturday , Sartaj Aziz stated that Pakistan does not object to neighbors providing financial or military training assistance to Afghanistan “But Iran and India should refrain from supporting a particular group in the war torn country,” he added.

your source is not credible and is full of lies regarding Iran, it's supported by either U.S or Israel.
for example it calls the Ashraf terrorists(MKO) camp, a hostage camp and then has made another lie about Iraq's MPs which is 180 degree against the reality.

Afghanistan has a government and they don't need a foreigner spokesman, Iran only supports Afghanistan's government, but apparently warm relations between Iran and Afghanistan and Hamed karzai's visit to Iran doesn't suit the others.

Every country looks after its own interests first irrespective of friends/ foes. In Afghanistan, all like minded countries will co-operate after NATO withdrawal. For Iran, naturally they have a big stake in the affairs as Afghanistan is its next door neighbour. Russia sees Afghan. part of Central Asia and hence will want a stable and friendly govt. Same goes for India along with an added strategic investment to have Pakistan cornered from both sides.

In the coming years, Russia/ Iran/ India might well prove to be the major stakeholders in Afghanistan. (Obviously except USA who will have its presence on the ground no matter how much withdrawal crap they say).

Seems like notion of Afghanistan government depends on the groups Iranians decide to support. So, 'Afghanistan government' was Mujahideen, then the shaky and tottering Northern Alliance that held about 20% of Afghan territory. Now, after American bombing and invasion, 'Afghanistan government' is the one controlling Kabul.

Notice that in each case 'Afghanistan government' was based on something that was later dumped for sake of another group. This is not a principled approach. This is the cause of instability in Afghanistan.

Pakistan has always maintained that whoever controls Kabul and majority of Afghan territory is considered legitimate Government of Afghanistan, whether it is Communist, Mujahideen, Taliban, or American, Iranian, & Indian supported Norther Alliance based setup.

The relevance of Pakistan to the US plans for the Central/Middle East is slowly eroding. Time is running out for the concept of expecting any state to be mindful of what Pakistan wants in Afghanistan. While, Pakistan will remain relevant in the Afghan game, the earlier influence will wane.

I had earlier also predicted in relevant threads, that, come 2014 US-Iran relations will improve once Ahmedinjad exits and the US finds Pakistan's usefulness going down. This has already started happening.

I would go ahead and say, that American policy will be guided more now, by what happens in East Asia. If Pak wants to remain relevant in a constructive manner it is better to extricate itself from Afghanistan and play a pure humanitarian role.

The above statement not only seems to suggest to the Iranian government what it should do, (by the way Iranian foreign policy has been guided by its own interests, the same cannot be said about Pak). It also suggests that Afghanistan should pay heed to what Pak says. With one statement the FM has targeted 2 countries.

If pakistan host MKO/MEK terrorists then we shall help the enemies of pakistan
