I really don't see why people must go out of their way to provoke others. I understand calling Mujeeb a traitor from Pakistani perspective etc but I really don't see the point of swearing at him or photo-editing his face onto animals and other such needless provocation.

Civil discourse may help us learn a thing or two, but pointless and needless provocations will only get the others to return the favour in some other way. As it is said, don't call someone's mother a whore unless you want yours to be called one as well.

As for Pakistan and Bangladesh, as far as I've seen most people don't care too much about the whole thing. The general attitude is that they went their own way we are going our own. Most of the people who were in power at that time are dead. So their matter is with God.

Not saying that the member you quoted is uneducated, but the colloquial version (most often spoken by semi-literate folk) of urdu and hindi are very similar. Educated people have the habit of persianising urdu and sanskritising hindi.

Not saying that the member you quoted is uneducated, but the colloquial version (most often spoken by semi-literate folk) of urdu and hindi are very similar. Educated people have the habit of persianising urdu and sanskritising hindi.

Urdu began as a dialect of Farsi. You can listen to Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s speech at the UN, which is an example of real Urdu.

Allama Iqbal’s poetry became more and more pure as time went on until it became almost unintelligible from Farsi/Dari. Today it is taught in the syllabus of Iran.

Pakistan’s anthem also is in real Urdu, although some of us erroneously call it Persianized Urdu.

British era really destroyed our traditional tongue and the British capital punishment for teaching, learning Farsi did not help.
