Although this is in context to the articles posted by Indians about Zardari seeking more time from India as per the Indian PM, i have opened up a new thread in which the statement is completely rejected. Mods however can merge the thread as deem fit.

Updated at: 1730 PST, Thursday, June 18, 2009
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Thursday Pakistan did not ask for more time for crackdown on the terrorists involved in Mumbai attacks.

Qureshi said all the outstanding issues will be brought on the table in the next Indo-Pakistan talks at foreign secretaries level.

It should be mentioned that Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Wednesday that Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari had sought more time to act against anti-India militants because Islamabad's fight with the Taliban had entered a crucial phase.

"He did mention to me the difficulties Pakistan is facing in controlling terrorism and asked us to bear with him, to give him some more time," Singh told reporters on his way back from Russia's Yekaterinburg, where the two leaders met on Tuesday.

FM says Pakistan did not seek time from India

Ask any sane person, whom to believe- Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh or Pakistani Foreign Minister Quereshi?
.
Deduction won't be tough.
.
And BTW he also declined after Mumbai attacks that the attackers are Pakistanis. We all know what came out as truth.
.
Or maybe Quersshi wants to say that "we did not seek any time from India, as no matter what, we are not going to do anything on it".
That makes quite sense.

Indian PM has the tendency to get carried away, so we for now will take the word of our FM.

What? I gave an example to back my assertion. I would be glad if you could attach a string to your balloon.

Thanx.

zardari should have answered that
"ok, if u dont have the mandate then we will meet when u have it"

Pretty convenient for you ain't it...you disown your government whenever you feel fit, and then exude full confidence in them when it suits your stand...hypocrisy is not a virtue my friend :coffee:

Manmohan Singh has got more integrity and brains than the whole Pakistani political class put together.

Pride is a peculiar thing isn't it? The very same Pakistanis who called Zardari, Mr.10% are more inclined to believe his words, than the words of a man whose integrity and honesty are beyond doubt.

This is a typical mantra ever since mumbai attacks. Whatever the Indian politicians say, Pakistanie establishment say something that day and next day you have 180 degree turn. And then the question becomes of who is lieing. I for one believe MMS.

Manmohan got carried away I guess. But the PR stunt before was effective AFAI see. Let us hope PR is not the only thing the Indian PM is after.

Sorry, but the heads of nations don't just get 'carried away'. When two country heads meet, they do not discuss their personal opinions over the situation. There is an entire team of think tanks which decides what PM should be speaking and what not. Whatever Manmohan said was a planned & well thought out diction. And not some impromptu speech which he just thought of while walking towards Zardari.

Well whether Singh has integrity or brains, that is something debatable however this thread isnt about judging his integrity neither am i criticizing on his ability. The tendency to get carried away specailly in case of Pakistan is very typical for any Indian sakar no matter who they are(politics).
Anywas in this particular case, the statement was only seen in the Indian media and that made it doubtful to begin with and we saw a clarification from our foreign minister that no such time frame is being sought from India. Now you don't suppose that the FM came out denying without consulating the president or even bringing it to his knowledge.

I suppose the statment comes out as a foot on the tails of many who were jumping with joy over the statment of their PM. Perhaps Pakistan still hasn't reached that stage where it would be seeking time frames from a county such as India. Wake up boys.

Who ever gives you the right to tell IceCold who's word he should take for granted?
I think it's obvious that us Pakistanis are going for our FM instead of India's PM.
Logics, so simple, yet so hard to understand eh?

The problem in applying you \"simple\" logic is that its so transient.
On one hand we have constant denigration of Zardari and Co. if he says anything that is not in sync with your views.

And now you are having full faith in his government. Very convenient

Open your eyes man...zardari was embarassed by MM\'s blunt truth. Poor guy couln\'t find an answer so requested MM to let the reporters go.

Now one wonders what he would have said to MM behind closed doors... must have been something he was ashamed accept in public.
