Coming from "The News" (Geo Group), I highly doubt the credibility of this report.

They are known cheerleaders of Sharif for obvious reasons.

I would rather wait and see if the news is real.

The GCI measures 12 pillars which include institutions, macro-economic environment, infrastructure, health and primary education, higher education and training, labour market efficiency, goods and market efficiency among others.
The report, a copy of which is available with Dawn, showed that Pakistan improved from 119 to 111 on the institutions pillars, while infrastructure improved only one point to 116 this year ( India -60 ).
Pakistan ranks last among its South Asian neighbours. India leads at 39, followed by Sri Lanka 71, Bhutan 97, Nepal 98 and Bangladesh 106.

As far as roads and rail network go Pakistan is equal if not ahead (esp. roads)
however you include the airports and sea ports then India surely is much bigger being a much much bigger country.

It's actually other way around.. Check the sub pillars in infrastructure in Global Competitiveness Report (2016-17) of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
India much ahead in railroad network than Pak ,but India trails Pak in port infrastructure..

1) Road Infrastructure.
2) Clean Energy - hydro electricity
3) Diplomacy and Foreign Policy - much ahead than India
4) Intelligence Service (ISI)
5) Population homogeneity
6) Resource Availability per capita
7) Access to electricity, I may add 90% of the population has access to electricity, the power lines are there...but power shortage makes it difficult as of now...
8) Far ahead in water access, water equity, sanitation access, and sanitation equity.
9) Urbanization
10) Less Population density.
11) Per Capita Meat Consumption
12) Less poverty
13) Less inequality, India ranks two in the world with most un-equality, after Russia at number one in income distribution.
14) Gased Pipeline, Pakistan has 10,000 Km of gas pipeline and India 11,000 or so. Looking at the size and land mass Pakistan is much ahead.
15) CNG usage, more than 6 million cars and buses on CNG in Paksitan, more than 17,00 CNG stations nationwide.

India much ahead in railroad network than Pak ,but India trails Pak in port infrastructure..

Not everything can be judged by Rankings . For example our Expressway total length is 923 km and India has 1300 km and India is 6 times bigger . India's biggest 6-lane is 160 km and ours is 375km . I don't think Indian cities have roads as good as Lahore or Islamabad within city Limits .

i doubt about Pakistani being equal ion rail network and infrastructure. Pakistani motorway is definitely better than ours.

Exaxtily they are on their plan and on return they protecting their money its only nawaz and his family but the bearucracy all political leaders fazlur achazai NGEOs maybe some military like musharafs involve our economist and people like jamat ali shah.. we sud realize and raize voices against this and do no vote no matter if its our blood brother..
