Musharraf was wise to leave USA F-16 market.Musharraf canceling F-16 order was the beginning!
Musharraf was wise to leave USA F-16 market.
China can fill in the gap.
JF-17 (block 3 and 4) should be the propriety since we can build and customized these at home.
Other available options for Pakistan are J-10C, J-11/J-16, SU-35, J-31, J-20 or joint venture with Turkey and China.
Pakistan purchased CASA CN235-220 aircrafts from Indonesia
Pakistan has no policy to not buy from USA , we just want to diversify our Defensive purchase from different countries and expand our relations with many countries
Also focusing on our local Industry and needs for defence

I think every country in world is diversifying their defence purchase and not relying on just 1 supplier
Criteria for Selection of a Vendor / Weapon supplier
a) Friendliness
b) Fast delivery
c) Less hassle
d) Respectful
e) Cooporative
A very standard requirement for defence partner
Tomorrow may be if we see something good from UK we will buy it or may be we see something nice from Korea we will buy it , or may be Indonesia might have something we like so again focus is on many suppliers
If pakistan starts to show enmity towards China and does exactly whats its told by USA in every scenario all the time, then yes that's possible.US will sell Us more F16 or even F15s if we play our cards right .
Well, Pakistan is keen on acquiring the J-31 as a replacement for F-16s as soon as it's available, which still years away. Nevertheless, I see your point. But it's less about acquiring new frames (or even used ones), and more about maintaining existing fleet. I'm sure PAF has a healthy supply of spare parts on hand, but what about armament, especially for COIN ops? Is JF-17 ready to fill that role?
It is pakistan's prime fighter.
with what?Replacement due.
wrong title . its nothing about Pakistan being US buyer. Arab states have ample demand worth in billions on regular basisMakes no difference to USA - they weren't exactly relying on any Pak orders; and are more than busy filling other international orders.
But at least now we can finally forget the F16s and move on to something better.
