There was an armed conflict between Chittagong people and Bangladesh, bangladesh deployed thousands of troops and people of Chittagong were raped and massacred. The armed conflict was there for about 20 years. Most people over there are indigineous tribes, Hill (Pahari) people. The only reason Chittagong was dragged here was because your bangali brethren dragged Balochistan, instead of staying ON TOPIC. I really wish Pakistan well with CPEC.

Currently Pakistan GDP/capita growth is at 3.5%, remember to take off 2% from GDP growth to take into account population growth, is trailing BD which is at 6% GDP/capita growth. I am sure that this will increase as CPEC kicks in and so aiming to try to match what BD is at currently at would be a good target for Pakistan.

BD is trying to increase it's GDP/capita growth and is hoping that the huge infrastructure projects currently being built will allow it to increase this a little to 7-8%.

Even with 10% reduction in industrial production BD is growing by 7% ??????? Is everybody "hang-able" in BD ???? Even WB's resident economist couldn't figure it out!!! I'm pretty sure he'll be "dead" soon!!!!

It was reduction in industrial growth (from 11% to 10%), not production. Even BBS cannot pull off a lie like that.

There are discrepancies in the underlying indicators as quoted by the WB guy, but that is somewhat because Bangladesh is stuck in GDDS accounting (and stuck in it like it has been stuck in LDC category for decades now), does not want to improve and has not even revamped its SNA accounting (still using SNA 1993) yet.

Even with all of that done there will be unaccounted economy playing tricks on the accounted numbers....with probably large troughs and peaks till wealth/liquidity/production is brought magnitudes higher to even it out....it is the nature of sampling regimes in underdeveloped country.

Treat only what you can confirm 3rd party wise and neutrally (say foreign trade, investment given another country has to vet it) with a reasonable crediblity. Everything internal is largely he says, she says for BD.
