Pakistan China agree to develop media.

KUMING (China), JUNE 14 (APP): Pakistan and China have agreed to develop bilateral cooperation in media to promote common interest and bring the people of the two countries more closer to each other.It was noted during a meeting held here on Tuesday that the media persons can develop greater understanding to present the prevailing situation in the region in its true prospective.Pakistani delegation was led by Mohammad Bilal Taheem, General Secretary of Islamabad Union of Journalist.The Chinese side was represented by Zhao Shuqing, President of the Yunnan Television.The two sides discussed the prospects of enhancing their bilateral interaction and exchanges of media delegations on frequent basis.

They underlined the need that as Pakistan and China are celebrating the 60th anniversary of establishment of their diplomatic relations they should encourage their media for creating awareness among the masses of their common interest in order to further strengthen their socio economic ties.

They further said the media of the two countries need to play a proactive role as their joint strategy to remove misconception on various issues.
The Pakistani delegation which included Adnanul Hassan, Javed Akhtar from (APP) briefed the Chinese media about the prevailing political situation in Pakistan and expressed strong determination of Pakistani leadership to stem out terrorism and join hands with the regional countries for promoting peace and prosperity.
The delegation was on a visit to China to attend South Asia and South East Asian countries regional commodities Fair.
The event was attended by a large number of journalists from various regional countries.
While addressing a banquet held in honour of the visiting journalists Bialal Taheem thanked the Chinese leadership for their outright support to Pakistan for its sovereignty.
Pakistan, he added holds the Chinese leadership in high esteem for their sincere support to his country at a crucial juncture.
Bilal further said that the two countries were moving fast for developing their socio-economic cooperation which he said is in the interest of regional peace.
He hoped that the frequent exchanges of media delegations will help achieve the future targets.
Pakistani delegation also held meetings with the members of media delegations belonging to other countries included Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Malaysia, Myanmar and Cambodia.
It was emphasized during the meeting that the journalist community should frequently visit each other country to understand the situation, especially relating to security issues so that the western media negative propaganda could not damage their interest.
While expressing their strong desire for having maximum cooperation among the regional media, the regional journalists agreed to have regular news exchange programmes.
The Pakistani delegation during their stay in Yunnan province also visited other cities including Dali and Li Jiang and met with the local leadership.
They briefed them about the Pakistan’s government consistent efforts to promote peace and development in the region.
The leader of the delegation Bilal assured the Chinese leadership that his country attaches top priority to develop its strategic
partnership with China. He said China being the regional leader is a great source of strength for country like Pakistan.
The delegation also visited CCTV headquarters in Kunming and witnessed their technological development in the electronic media.
The Pakistani delegation also watched their news broadcast operation system and noted that it reflected China rapid technological development.
He noted that China is playing a leading role in television production sector.
“We could share our experience of technical know how to compete with developed countries”, Bilal observed.
The leader of the Pakistani delegation said that the CCTV and the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) could work closely to benefit from their experience in the field of electronic media.
He said that APP and CCTV are already negotiating to sign a cooperative agreement for exchange of their Video service as well as their media personnel.

Bilal said that APP was also working on a plan to introduce news service in Chinese language.
