Pakistan buys "initial batch" of four Mi-35s

Pakistan and Russia signed a formal agreement on 19 August for Russia to sell four Mi-35 attack helicopters to the Pakistan Army, the country's main operator of helicopters, in a deal considered a breakthrough between the two countries.

Following Pakistan's initial buy of four aircraft, a significant number of additional Mi-35s will be purchased. (Russian Helicopters)​

Neither a price for the contract nor the potential number of additional helicopters to be bought was revealed. However, a senior government official told IHS Jane's that it will be "a significant number", adding that the four Mi-35s covered by the contract will be paid for from funds allocated in Pakistan's budget for its present July-June financial year.
"As we go forward, other purchases [of the Mi-35] will be made from funds allocated in coming financial years," said the official.

i dont think so... though russian are well ahead in missile techs, but Vipers (AH Z) are specialized in anti armor roles.. where as mi 35 are both transporter and gunship.. so i think will be used for counter insurgency roles..
think of this way that US is making most of software technology product but russians aren't. so Vipers are for modern battle field where we experience ECM, shoot and scoot, all weather capabilities etc,...

that was reported earlier and the sale was approved whether we go ahead with the sale is another thing

if you can confirm the model and the specs of the MI-35 that are sold to Pakistan then it will be great. I guess they must be customised for Pakistan , all weather / day and night operation etc

yes order is placed and even weapons system is being made by boeing now
AH-1Z Viper, 1000 Hellfire II Missiles approved for sale to Pakistan.

I'm certain that Mi-35 is an outstanding machine but it won't be right to compare it with AH-1Z. Both belong to separate category of helicopters. Mi-28 or Ka-52 should make a better comparison.

1. Mi 35 can sustain high damage from higher caliber guns
2. Its can carry troops, provide air cover
3. rescue mission too.. so best for counter insurgency... though this latest version is suitable for anti armor but not best as Vipers.. @soldier of Putin
