The Pakistan Army on Friday received six new Cessna aircraft, two Cessna 208 Caravan and four Cessna T-206H from the United States, said a statement released by the US Office of Defense Representative.

In April 2016, the US Department of Defence had announced it had issued a $14.9 million, fixed-price contract to Cessna Aircraft Company for making two Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX aircraft and four Cessna T-206H Stationair aircraft for Pakistan. The contract included sustainment support and associated training.

The aircraft will be configured for medical evacuation.

The statement from the Office of Defense Representative added that the Caravan and the Stationair aircraft will strengthen Pakistan Army's air mobility by enhancing its capability to conduct medical evacuations as well as provide limited troop and equipment transport.

The Pakistan Army Aviation Corps in the statement thanked America for the "generous contribution".

"American security assistance continues to build the counter-terrorism capabilities of Pakistan's security forces."

"The US and Pakistan are stronger when we work together to combat terrorism," the statement added.

Each aircraft comes with a 24-month sustainment package, including spares, tooling, and support equipment.

The Grand Caravan EX, first shown at the Paris Airshow in 2015, is equipped with a surveillance console, medical stretcher, lightweight seats and stowable utility seat.

It accommodates up to 14 people and a load of 1,593kg.

The T206H Stationair is a smaller aircraft for six people and can take a load of 581kg.

Pakistan Army orders new Cessna MedEvac planes

Cessna 208 Caravan

Cessna Aircraft has been awarded a foreign military sales contract worth $14 million to supply two Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX aircraft and four Cessna T-206H Stationair aircraft to Pakistan.

Contractor will provide two new Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX aircraft modified for aeromedical evacuation, and four new Cessna T-206H Stationair aircraft modified for aeromedical evacuation, according to the statement.

The Cessna 208 Caravan is a single-engined turboprop, fixed-tricycle landing gear, short-haul regional airliner and utility aircraft that is built in the United States by Cessna. The airplane typically seats nine passengers with a single pilot, although with a FAR Part 23 waiver it can seat up to fourteen passengers. The aircraft is also used for cargo feederliner operations.

The Cessna T-206H model — is outfitted with the Lycoming TIO-540 310 hp engine with completely automatic wastegate for ease of operation and built-in overboost protection. The combination of lots of power and lots of drag gives you about 125 knots true at just over 18 gph, plenty fast for crawling from lake to lake and plenty powerful to haul a big load in the process.

. . . . .
Did you not read these are for Medevac (Medical Evacuation) ops? You can't put an injured soldier in a stretcher in super Mushaq, can you?
Beside medical evacuation a small time burq/he'll fire can also be in its way
If needed :enjoy:

Four CeT206H were on their delivery flight early March flying into St.Johns-Newfoundland and onward to the Azores.

They have Cessna manufacturer's numbers T206-09244 to T206-09247 and were cancelled from the US civil aircraft register on 24 March.

By now, they should normally be in Pakistan already :partay:

best regards,
Erwin
