U sure MI 28 ?i think we should look for SU 25 as well from Russia for COIN ops .

Bad option, heavy maintenance, older tech, etc,etc,etc. If you want to really get this type of a platform, just build more JFT's for CAS roles.

For COIN ops, you don't need a jet. You should get heli's in numbers,or buy with TOT the Chinese helicopters.

In fact, I'd say, you should buy a few more C-130's with CAS gear, the Howitzer and all. That puppy can rain down 105 shells. Its loiter time can also be 8-12 hours a flight. You could provide a 24*7 coverage to your COIN ops with C-130. This is the best option for the money, firepower and for the high availability of the system on minutes notice.

Yes as for fighter jets I think we would depend on China for that.

I think the visit is prolly linked with Afghanistan situation as US endgame is nearer and may be finalization of MI35s deal. Nevertheless an important visit to build ties between both the countries.

Sir Army Chief carries a nuclear football with him and security lapse could mean total disaster so unfortunately we have bad bad law and order situation. As for this deal I think they upgraded MI-17 being mentioned by SAMMA TV last night is basically MI-38 as for MI-35 and MI-28 I hope if the deal is signed its signed for really large numbers.

Look at needs of PAF their size and what are their requirements we maximum need three 4.5 Generation platforms like F-16 and JF-17 and J-10 B or J-11 D 450 to 540 of them. As for bomber we at maximum to counter India cold start we need bombers either like SU-34 or JH-7 may be 3 or 4 squadrons.
