Pakistan Army Armoured Corps makes Military history, unprecedented World Record

lol using them as artillery is actually fun tbh, you get better accuracy on those far off ranges and firing HE or HESH rounds at groups of infiltrators should be fun...
No to forget the valueable experience that comes from firing at those long ranges in windy conditions, the elevation and trajectory calculations have to be really accurate.

Omg Artillery tanks?? Type 59 chinese? Did our engineers modify the turrets? Hehe jugard?

This is fun. Deep down i wished it was al khalid... That wud have been fun to write down in history.

Although might not be as explosive but the straighter trajectory and accuracy would have helped even though its an old manual aimed tank.

I believe HE and HESH rounds might still make big enough blasts to kill or blow up concentrations of infrantry and hardened infrastructure. Besides the projectile speed should make a bigger difference in reaction times and accurately hitting the bad guys on the run.

We shouldn't really retire the old tanks anyway, just convert them into drones or HE firing mamoths lol.

Anyone know KV2?

That is amazing. Terrific idea to keep the military personnel warn in a sheltered tank while providing the muscle power (armor) needed to blow the Afghan Terrorist to smithereens.

It is a smart use of a tank to monitor the high altitude border in inhospitable environment as an artillery backup.

Well done Pak Army!

Should become permanent towers with turrets, like the ones on ships. Expensive but it will be very effective.

Same top which was taken last year in same season, where a Captain and OR from LCB were KIA. 35 Ts were killed.

Not a good idea

A tank is a mobile artillery piece and should not be deployed in a circumstance where’s it unqiue advantage is nullified

If you are going to use a tank as a fixed artillery piece something is wrong

However it’s only one tank not a entire division and it’s old version

as such it provides a good learning and training experience most likely firing in a downward elevation something tanks rarely do and this is why it was probably deployed there in the first place

Its a great idea.. I think gun and firing mech is modified for higher accuracy at long ranges... Its far more accurate than mortar or artillery fire plus has mobility
