PAKISTAN AND ALGERIA AGREE TO ENHANCE COOPERATION IN DIVERSE FIELDS

Pakistan and Algeria have reiterated their commitment for further promotion of cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, defence, education, science and technology.
The two sides reviewed the entire gamut of Pakistan-Algerian bilateral relations during the 2nd Round of Bilateral Political Consultations in Islamabad.
Special Secretary for Middle East and Africa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Waheed-ul-Hasan led the Pakistan side while Head of Asia and Oceania Bureau of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Boumediene Guennad headed the Algerian delegation.
Noting the traditional warmth and cordiality of brotherly ties, they expressed satisfaction at the continued growth of mutually beneficial cooperation in diverse fields, including trade and commerce.
The two sides stressed the need for greater interaction between the private sectors of the two countries, business-to-business contacts and increased participation in trade fairs.
They decided to convene the next round of Joint Ministerial Commission at Islamabad in autumn of 2016.
Delegations also discussed regional issues and matters pertaining to cooperation at multilateral fora.
The Algerian side briefed on Pakistan’s policy of promoting peaceful neighbourhood and efforts made in counter-terrorism.
