Sherdil Shaheen by By Rahat Rahat Fateh Ali Khan - Tribute to Pakistan Armed Forces - YouTube

Within the first 24 seconds of this 5-minute video, you'll already get a laundry list of aircraft that the Pakistan Air Force wants to boast about. “A package comprising of F-16, Mirage and JF-17 will strike the high value target and foreign terrorists,” says the trailer-like voice-over early on in the video, which adds filmy twist to a new song written as a tribute to the Pakistan Special Forces and Pakistan Air Force.

Made by Sahir Ali Bagga, this new song titled “Sherdil Shaheen” is sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and is set to a video featuring action, blood and of course an emotional ending, just like any Bollywood film, or even something produced on that side of the border. The video, produced by the Air Force's Directorate of Media Affairs, was released on September 6, the day Pakistan calls 'Defence Day' for its reaction to an Indian attack in the 1965 war (itself provoked by a Pakistani offensive). Significantly, though, the enemy in the video is not a proxy for India; Instead, they are Taliban stand-ins, a nod to the Pakistani military's current operations against terrorists in the north.
Defence Day has in fact also been an excuse for Pakistan's Army Chief General Raheel Sharif to offer up some bombast. “Armed forces of Pakistan are fully capable of dealing with all types of internal and external threats, may it be conventional or sub-conventional; whether it is cold start or hot start. We are ready,” said Sharif in his speech during the event, referring directly to the Indian doctrine aimed at containing Pakistan's nuclear capabilities. He also termed Kashmir as an “unfinished agenda of partition," a clear signal that the recent failure of talks between the two countries will take some time to mend.

Its a patriotic song and the video is about paf so I seriously don't get what's wrong with it. If the video does show case the list then what's the problem in that. Not everybody in Pakistan knows how many planes and jets we have and thus those that don't know can find knowledge on the list and those that are not updated will find themselves updated.

As for the song what's wrong in that? Its a patriotic song and what about rahay? Is there a set monopoly that only these singers can be taken seriously when they sing a patriotic song. So what is wrong in rahay fateh ali singing a patriotic song in a Pakistan air force video whose purpose is to bring the civilians and the army closer and to increase patriotism in the nation.

As for propoganda... That is an extremely foolish word used here. How is this in any sense propaganda?

It has burned a few people that's just it. What I don't understand is why are the works and relationship between our army and us looked at with such scrutiny. This video was made for the people and there is nothing wrong it at all. The people love it.

Whats propaganda in this video? Its all there on the ground happening as we speak.JF-17s,F-16s are on regular hunt for guns for hire,SSW is going in there with SSG to show these dogs the meaning of fear. The modus operandi of any professional airforce is the same as shown in the video unless of course if the Air Force of the author's country is not professional then all this would seem like a propaganda to him.
