Pakistan, Afghanistan deploy tanks as fencing dispute escalates

Your story is very similar to mine. We are supposed to be Pashtun through a marriage of our ancestor with an Afghan princess and may have links through our Ansari side with Pir Roshan. After partition occrured families that were pashtun by origin but had forgotten pashto moved to Pakistani controlled side. Instead of calling themselves pashtuns they openly identified as muhajirs. This is exactly what happened to us as we did not know pashto and our links to pashtuns were inproven.

Personally I have such a deep respect for Pashtuns that I would rather identify as one rather than a muhajir a term we adopted for ourselves and which is a source of the ethnic mess in Karachi. However there are still many places in our UP like Fatehpur where Pashtuns are present.

@Samandri always tries to put Pashtuns at a collision course with the rest of their Pakistani brethren and I do not like it one bit. I don't know why he does this or what satisfaction he gains pitting ethnicities against each other but he is not the only one with the problem. I would advise the people of Pakistan to act united. Afghanistan, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia or whatever other country does not deserve our loyalty.

Samandri you contradict yourself. At one time you say Zaid Hamid types see pashtuns as supermen who can free Kashmir and all and then you say pashtuns are blamed for all the problems. How can both be true. The reality is Pashtuns have held immense respect in Pakistan because of their patriotism with a few ethnically charged individuals from MQM and gang who hate them. I have criticized these MQM terrorists constantly to the point muhajirs with their typical mentality hate me.

Further thugs from Afghanistan and their sympathizers are trying to change this image of Pashtuns as patriots. What is the gain if Pashtuns lose their position as perceived patriots? The victim will be pashtuns themselves.

Pashtuns don't want to destroy what lives they have built in Pakistan as patriotic citizens. Afghanistan is playing an emotional game with pashtuns of Pakistan now that it needs them. They kicked pashtuns away when they went to Afghanistan to seek support in their rebellions against the British and treated them as traitors just because Abdur Rehman Khan an Afghan monarch sold them to the British. Now they want Pashtuns back? Seriously smell the coffee Samandri. Afghanistan is no well wisher of Pakistan nor Pashtuns. It is dominated by non pashtuns in every field. So I would advise you not to do this as the ultimate victim is Pashtuns, patriotic pashtuns working hard to make a living and name in Pakistan
Great. I agree with you totally that we should not use the word Mohajirs since that means our parents temporarily moved to Pakistan..which is incorrect and I'm 4th generation Pakistani (like most of people on pdf are 3rd or 4th gen) in most countries 2nd gen are considered naturalised. I just used it to describe so myself so as to show that a Pashtun can be a "mohajir". Well my both paternal and maternal sides are pathans even the same family and until recently, we were reluctant to marry outside the extended family but thankfully it has changed. i grew up hearing the stories of sacrifices our forefathers offered for the creation of a separate homeland for Muslims of subcontinent. Chants of "پاکستان کا مطلب کیا لا الہ الللہ " by my ancestors still echo in our heads. The love for Pakistan is woven into our blood and it does not matter where in the world we are. The aim is to develop strong and participate positively in rebuilding and reclaiming our country from the clutches of evil and corrupt elite. Pakistan is still far from the promise of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali.
Jinnah (my grand father had the honour of meeting him).
Sir we will not let them do it. Our forefathers sacrificed their lives for Pakistan and we will do that same if need arises. Most of men in my family are serving in pak armed forces.

I am genius or not is our thread subject

1. You can't seal almost 2250 km border, especially by pakistan.

2. Tension happened when afghanistan forces stopped 2 km fencing by pakistan.

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/...stan-afghanistan-tension-160512135324053.html

3. Putting a fence and border is of same purpose.

Fencing=Treating that line as a border

If you don't maintain border, then there is no point of fencing.Any one can take out fencing at any time.

As another pointed out that you can't fence pak-afghan mountains and terrain is majority mountains.
Yes it is none of the business of our's.

Lol
@Horus take care of this troll.

The US Army didn't, but the US Marine Corps did decide to deploy a few, only 14 Abrams were deployed in 2011, but in 2013, they were withdrawn from Afghanistan. So as of now, Americans rely on MRAPS not MBT's in Afghanistan as they don't suit the terrain.

Danish had their Leopard 2 in Afghanistan back in 2009.

That's true man... The very next day...he was roaming around in a second hand Corolla..

Walwar is also practiced in Balochistan.. But people like that guy actually give the whole community a bad name..

Iinitially it wasn't done for money.. Afghan refugees married their daughters because of nessecities, protecting their daughters etc .. Life in refugee camps was/is hard.. But the recent trend is more towards beghairati rather than the real concept which of walwar... Which dictates the money being utilised for dowry and wedding expenses..

Man why cant for we for once blow them to smithereens? They Afghans have forgot their place, i dont get it why do we need to act so passive all the time. Neither any from the government comes up and shuts them nor the military. If Gen Raheel is involved i just hope he gets the message across. Otherwise its just going to make us look like idiots.
As long as India is involved, Pakistan cannot move militarily against Afghanistan.

It seems the Afghan military and intelligence know their place, using and being used by India.

No need for military action. Seal the border, stop all provisions and supplies from Pakistan to Afghanistan and watch a human catatrophe unfold that will make the famine in Somalia and Ethiopia look like a nursery party. Problem solved without violence.

ALL Afghans know the above to be true that's why they were so horrified and disturbed when we tried to fence the border.

.
to secure the border i think they need to install the fence all over the border rather than only few areas.. and i have heard they will landmine the area as well so finally they have started to fence the border which they were talking for years

Sir if we allow India to take root in Afghanistan this is going to be disastrous for us. We will have to let the Afghans know the cost of their alliance with India at the expense of Pakistan whether overt or by covert means. Perhaps what if we put sanctions on them. After all their entire existence depends upon routes from Pakistan including our sea port. Lets raise the cost of living for them so high that they fall on their knees.

Folks it looks like army has resumed fencing the border

http://www.dawn.com/news/1258419/army-resumes-laying-barbed-wire-along-afghan-border

LANDI KOTAL: Personnel of the army’s engineering corps resumed laying barbed wire at selected locations along the Pak-Afghan border on Saturday after the Torkham border crossing was reopened on Friday evening, sources said.

The sources said that Inspector General of the Frontier Corps, Maj Gen Mazhar Shaheen, visited the border crossing and observed the situation there.

On the occasion, they said, Maj Gen Shaheen instructed the border guards to show courtesy to the people crossing over into Pakistan or Afghanistan but keep a strict vigil on the movement of suspect people.

He gave cash prizes to the border guards who worked overtime during the four days the Torkham border crossing remained closed.

A great rush of people was seen at the crossing in the morning as thousands of Afghan nationals flocked to it after remaining stranded on the other side due to the four-day closure.

Officials and clearing agents told Dawn that over 300 vehicles carrying export items, edibles and other goods were cleared at the Customs terminal for their journey into Afghanistan.

A similar number of vehicles loaded with coal and marble, etc, crossed over into Pakistan, they said.

The officials said the recently-installed human scanning machine remained busy throughout the day due to the large number of Afghans seeking to cross over into Pakistan.

Restaurants, markets and offices of clearing agents in the area also reopened on Saturday.

Holy sh!t bro I'm not saying balochis are traitors what I am saying is they are not given basic human rights which is also the case with other provinces along with kpk so be cool

Our hospitals, hotels and transportation can survive. What we can not have is open borders. They should be sealed for at the very least a week more, while the Afghan government decides what it wants. Most Afghans go to government hospitals, which are tied up with our own people and they are short staffed and under funded as it is. Maybe this is a good thing, a complete cut off while we fence our side and send the million plus back to Afghanistan.
As for war, we did nothing illegal when we were fencing our border, we should continue and any interruption should be dealt with force.
Tanks and all, let the ANA act childish once and get it out of their system because until they do, little skirmishes will continuously disrupt things.
If they want an adventure. Why not provide them with more than their Expectation ?
Approx 100,000 Innocent Pakistani Civilians and several hundreds of Army personals have Paid the price of relations with Afghanistan . We should have fenced the Boarder Very Earlier.
Almost All Terrorist Activities that are carried out in Pakistan are planned and executed from Afghanistan. APS School attack with was on of the most terrible one, was also planned from there.
Why always we have to suffer because of those Afghan Backstabbers ?
We always do good with them, we are still hosting their Millions of Refugees which are living a far better life here in Pakistan which they could ever imagine to Live in Afghanistan and are Burden on our Economy.
But still what we get in return as thanks from Afghanistan ?
Terrorism ? Extremism ?
And now they have dared to place troops on Boarder with Pakistan ?
I say as they want it, we should give it to them. Let the party begin. And also I demand a quick action from our Higher Authorities to Quickly Seal the Boarder, Electrify the Fence along with Heavy Mining.
Also Its time that we should send Afghan Refugees Back to Afghanistan.
They say Guests are Blessing of God. But these Afghans have proved to be a Curse for us.

Where accept peshawar everything is Same as it was i go there every month i noticed no change

you would be blind not to see anything . KPK has brought Police reforms , Education reforms , Electoral reforms and so much more. Next time try over speeding and bribing police there and see what you get now . Literacy of KPK has improved immensely . In government colleges biometric systems have been introduced and attendance of lecturers compulsory even in far flung areas whereas before those where ghost schools .

Protocols for VIP's has decreased greatly this is one of the things that i have witnessed myself . In recent years there was no tourism policy this government has a tourism policy and opened up government guesthouses in Galiyat where only previously ministers could stay .

Visit Swat , mardan , Nowshera , Abbotabad and see the changes there . KPK's success has been introducing reforms in governance and focusing on institutions rather than flashy projects . That is why it has been topping polls in all categories recently .

Personally i believe that the biggest success of the KPK govt is the development of small dams. The water storage capacity that these small dams bring for local areas will be crucial in the years to come when India begins its water terrorism, which will be pretty soon, since almost all its assets have been neutralized
