Pakistan admits past mistakes in Afghanistan

instead of blaming each other like girls, its time to accept both of our mistakes as brothers as Muslims and move ahead together for a bright and successful future to show others what together we can do. :enjoy:

Pakistan should follow policies which reflect its own interests rather than thinking about other nations.
Well for that one needs a stable format of Foreign Policy. For guarding one needs a to look beyond decades.

If people start introspection than blaming each other, South Asia may develop at good rate.

Well hopefully imran khan will be true to his words. Inshallah he will be our next PM as hez the only one who can provide us with an independent foreign policy.

So what were the mistakes again?? it's too general a statement - doesn't really cut it.

afghans have to admit their own mistakes with respect to Pakistan , starting from 1947 when they along with india stood against the creation of Pakistan

there is nothing on the horizon to suggest that afghans and indians have acknowledged their own wrong doing against Pakistan , there fore nothing really changes

The biggest mistake that we did was we helped the afghans. Hadn't we done that, we would not have suffered the way we have or they have. We should have let them mind their own business with the russians and we should have done something for ourselves and secured our borders.

Exactly!

We fell for the COLD WAR hype and paranoia easily: USSR came to Afghanistan to put a communist government to power; nothing more. Strategic decision of transforming Afghanistan in to a COLD WAR conflict zone have not just destroyed and radicalized Afghanistan and some parts of Pakistan but have backfired on both USA and Pakistan in the aftermath. If USSR had greater ambitions after it invaded Afghanistan then it may have expanded war in to Pakistan or threatened Pakistan to back off with its nuclear arsenal; nothing of this sort happened and this reinforces my POV that General Zia was wrong about this.

Who have got the last laugh eventually? Correct answer is "Russians."

This saying never gets old: "Those who dig graves for others finally fall into those graves themselves"

This being said, I am a supporter of fencing of Durand Line.
