What's new

Pak women taking up Bollywood dance classes

In Karachi they must be having such arrangment so fly over to Karachi :P

I have seen an internet video of Karachi girls they dance good, still can't understand why they need classes:undecided:

Yar masla dance ka nahi masla kaproon ka ha.

And the clothes wore by Pakistani female models in Pakistani Fashion Week must be quite Islamic and traditional Pakistani clothes. Right???

You have problem with Bollywood dresses.

I suggest fix up the home problem before criticizing bollywood.

Even if Bollywood does not exist there will be always the hollywood and Pakistani fashion designers doing fashion shows with Pakistani female models.

P.S: - Not to forget the clothes lollywood actresses wear.

Veena Malik for instance http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...red_carpet_event_for_the_Lux_Style_Awards.jpg

There is a difference between a dance and a bollywood dance.

A normal dance does not have latka's and jhatka's which is bolly speciality.

Not sure how many people followed Saroj Khan's bollywood dance classes on NDTV Imagine.

Dude, compared to Lollywood dances, Bollywood dance must be ultra-sophisticated.

Robbi the dancing style is the same here also its just that Indian media had used the word Bollywood dance classes :)

And i tell you we have some classic great Kathak dance centers in Pakistan. The classical dance classes have been going on in Pakistan since decades.

Bhangra is something which almost everyone learns here even without the teacher :)

Jana, now that you say it, I think I remember female Kathak dancers from Pakistan on TV.

And I didn't mean that Pak doesn't have other dance forms, I just mentioned India as thats what I know about.

And yes even in east Punjab people do pick up Bhangra naturally without any help. It just comes naturally to a Punjabi. But I went a step further and learnt it from a formal coach since we had an inter-school competition that we wanted to win.

Lollywood?? what IS THAT???

A little google would have helped.

Lollywood (Urdu: لالیوُڈ) refers to the Pakistani film industry based in the city of Lahore. The name is a portmanteau of the city's initial with Bollywood. The word "Lollywood" was first coined in the summer of 1989 in the now defunct magazine "Glamour" published from Karachi by a gossip columnist Saleem Nasir. Sameena Jaffry was the editor and Iqbal Munir was the publisher of the magazine. Saleem Nasir intended this as a joke to emulate Bollywood. The word Lollywood was then picked up by Urooj Samdani, a film journalist, who wrote an article about the Pakistani film industry in Women's Own Magazine The film industry in Lahore started in 1929 with the opening of the United Players' Studios on Ravi Road. The cornerstone for the studio was set by Abdur Rashid Kardar. Since then the studio has managed various indigenous productions competing with other film production centres in the undivided India, namely Bombay and Calcutta.

After the partition of India, Lahore was the only film production centre in the newly-found Pakistan and in its infancy released the first film on 7 August 1948 title Teri Yaad. Since then, film production centres have been opened in the cities of Karachi and Peshawar.

considering the increasing influence of western society i would like to make few predictions....... lets see how many of you can agree on to this

Pakistan in 2030

1) You will find Dance clubs very common in Pakistan (even in my city Gujrat)
2) After listening the REMIX Naats last week i won't be surprised if our Mullahs/Youth start reciting the Holy Qur'an with remix music
3) XX or XXX Movies in lollywood
4) If a young girl wish to wear DOPATTA........ She will be laballed as Barbaric by youth of Pakistan
5) It will be very common that peoples will have kids without marriage

If anybody will raise her voice against these predictions he/she will be called "Maulvi" or "Barbaric" in 2030.

With no disrespect to anybody

I am already very late and this is my last post........ will not reply after that in this thread hopefully until the topic is changed
