Well that's a very valid question! You know, no major dams have been built in Pakistan since 80's. But the problem with hydro electricity generators is water we already have low water resources, with India controlling the water gates to Pakistan we need to build reservoirs to store water for drinking & for agriculture as for power generation Nuclear energy is the viable option and i don't understand the anxiety amongst American's, they should be open about their reservations as what will we do with their assistance in nuclear technology which we haven't done already, for heavens sake we already have nuclear bombs........

Answer is simple china is a friend, Russia is far away, Saudi arab is also a friend
its india alnow who is enemy.

But then Pakistan has border issues with Iran and Afghanistan also. How come there is no request for parity with them?

Also, all countries that have issues don't run after parity e.g. US and Venezuela, China and Japan, Russia and Georgia, Israel and the UAE etc.

The nuclear deal is about civilian energy and related ENR technology. Why seek parity on this if the prism is from a purely military dimension?

One motorway and few building will not earn Pakistan economy...We have more scientist,engineer,doctor,MBAs,researchers,teacher,bankers,industry and established banks,economist and n numbers of students....

Saw some posts here which mentioned Indian defence nuclear program will benefit from the civilian nuclear deal. I just hope people here realise what the civilian nuclear deal means!

Will India defence program benefit from it? Yes. But not in the manner some have pointed out. Let me mention a few key points. If you are aware of it, fine if not, please do thank me.


1.) There is no export of defence nuclear technology here.

2.) There are no experts coming from US to help our defence program.

3.) Not an iota of technology transfer is happening.

Then how does it help. It help passively.

India does not have enough deposits of weapon grade material. So we are always short of using them for both, building nukes and in civil applications to generate electricity. With this deal we do not have to bother about the civilian need. We can buy that fuel. And divert all the civilian fuel available in India to make weapons.

Hope that clears a few questions.

Afghanistan? r u talking abt durand line? tht issue is dead nobdy in this sane world supports afghan claims of Pak land.!

Afghan govt. can barely run kabul.
