Pak Railways to start e-ticketing soon: Minister
SUKKUR, June 12 (APP): State Minister for Railways, Khalid Ahmed Khan Lund said Pakistan Railways will introduce e-ticketing soon as part of its efforts to run Pakistan Railways on modern lines. Talking to APP at Circuit House Sukkur on Tuesday, he said that the plan is being finalized about starting of booking of railway tickets through credit cards by next month.
The Minister said that there will be a restriction of booking of minimum of ten tickets through credit cards. While e-ticketing would be started from August.
He said that major railway stations of the country will undergo renovation besides special cells will be established at these stations to facilitate passengers of Pakistan Railways.
He said complaints will also be registered at these special cells.
Pakistan Railways is soon going to start shuttle trains between the small stations of the country so that rail passengers can avail modern transportation facilities, he added.
Minister further said that Gujranwala-Lahore railway track was being dualized so that fast trains could be operated between the two major industrial towns of the country.
